Smile 2002 24 valve- Make Me Smoke !

First of all I love My Truck. Secondly Im A 1 income family and my truck is my livelyhood and i cant risk putting it down for any stupid mods that get minimal results. After reading many post Ive leart I probly shouldnt have put a k&n in my truck but the powermaster@cummins told me that and i did it any way! Well I'm leaving it in for now. Last week I removed my silencer ring (local suggestion) then i read more threads and guess what.....I shouldnt have done that either! Well ive leaving it out too. The first mod I made was the strait pipe with a stack under the truck. The threads warned back pressure and turbo spoling! Well crap it sounds like I shoundnt have done nothing because all I did was take the longjevity out of my cummins. Is it better to just let it be and leave the cummins choked too stock specs?? I hope not because its so fun to do some thing little and go on that first test drive. My brother had a 12 valver and it was all decked out injecters, propane and all that jazz. I pulled it @ the county fair and was in awe. Sold my truck and bought the 2002 24 valve cummins with in a week!!!! And that $550 per month for 50 months is still new to me but you only live once. His mods were simple ....Pull this thing here off turn the screw and waala we have smoke. why o why does mine have to be all futureristic and be electronic everything..... I know I know Fuel mileage and versitility thats all good . but I would Like some SMOKE so Smoke me and tell me the quarks of my engine with out me having to buy injectors and any crazyness like that. 50 Diffrent types of chips out there some dont even smoke some require other up grades I dont want to deal with all that My truck has oddles of power now hell it had plenty stock I'm just playin here. Gimme smoke more power or not i can all ready blow bye chiped powerstokes I just did on the interstate he was all power stoked out leather whips and chains ya know..he wanted to play and i was game I know he was chiped he had some smoke..more than me I was in the fast lane he was in the middle as I passed him he sped up....he must have seen my new cummins badges .Its was on hammer down ford tried like hell but in the end he admited the loss and backed off after he was reading my tail gate, I glanced down and was running 95mph..govener what govener do I even have one?? any way when i got home I came here for smoke now i want to soot them so they have something to remember me by So wheres my little screw thingamajingwhatmakallit to make my truck smoke and most importantly Dont Hurt My truck Please

Cool me to

I'm with dieselmind too. I don't want to polute the environment but a few people just need to breathe "respect"..like disrespectfull PS, occasional ricer, some loud music freaks, and sometimes I just need to rid the yard of mosquitoes

I would be really neat to just push a buttom and bblaaaahhhh black smoke would roll out

My neighbor brings the garbage out now when I come by but I don't really need to have her throw it at me so turning it off and on at will would be nice. The flame thrower guys have a pretty ausome system that will toast your ankles and they only cost about $100.

And also please don't hurt my Dodge

I promise I'll not bring the rath of Uncle Sam down on us.

DieselMinded, The HO was put into 3/4 tons too, see my sig and others with like. The HO's came with 6 speed sticks in '02 for all of us that didn't want training wheels too.

Wants Smoke?

The switch for smoke is called the throttle... only one I know of. Black smoke is unburned diesel fuel. Get yourself a set of DD2 injectors and floor it...but do it sparingly or you'll be hearing your transmission going south. Gotta spend some money if you want to smoke like the big boys...Sorry.

There's no cheap way to get smoke on a 24V. The BEST way is to put in some cheap slobbery Bully Dog injectors that don't atomize worth crap. Try the 120hp Bully Dogs-- they're nice and sloppy

Truth is, raw smoke is wasteful and it's no fun when you can't control it. Controllability is where it's at-- you want to be able to smoke when you want to, but not have to do it all the time.

Which leads me to a fueling box, or rather THE fueling box- the TST competition. If you want smoke, look no further. It's a solar eclipse in a little box. It also won't screw you when you don't want smoke because you can turn it off and be nice and clean.

In short-- TST competition.

Justin's may be right. Box would be better because you can turn it down...or off.
Just not sure how much smoke you'll get with stock injectors and an HY-35 turbo? Also think the box may be too tempting. The first time you set it higher than 4, your tranny will start "slip sliddin away". Never tried it....just my humble guess.

I have an 3/4 ton '02 HO 6 speed and wouldn't trade it for anything It has recieved 4" exhaust, Edge EZ, 50 hp bd-power injectors, and a k&n drop-in. It is missing the silencer ring, the muffler, and a few pieces out of the stock air filter box and it smokes just right. Alot when you want it, and not so much if you stay out of the throttle. I hope this helps.

Thanks HOHN , Ill try to find a tst comp fuel box and Ill stop there, no need for any more goodies fun but risky and lots of $$$$. Does a fuel box just dump more fuel to the motor?= smoke that makes sence It does nothing for timing right? I hear about you all stacking timeing and fuel boxes and running 2 turbos . Well thats cool and all but its kind of unnessasary for me.If I was to buid my truck to pull with the "big boys" that wouldnt be smart of me because dave mitchell lives within 20 miles of me and Im many of $$$ and time and exp. behind him plus thats not my every day job and cummins doesnt sponser me to drive up and down the high way . So why try., On a lighter note Ill play safely and enjoy my ride for years to come. @ cummins home page there now offering chips model year 98.5 and down the new ones are pending you would think that there brand would be the safest right? but will i smoke ? is a chip a fuel box? or a timing box ? or maybee both or nither thats why im here. and no other mods please dd2 injectors are not what i have in mind CHEAP SMOKE (No oilily corn cobs down my stack please.) Thanks all

ramcummins ----wow thats what im looking for maybee im just scared of injector work is it a big deal to change them out? $$$? I wonder if my truck being an automatic will screw my smoke up and keep shifting? I realize you can play alot with a standard but with my commute its not reasonable for me. fun on the weekends tho. What did you do to your air box and could you tell a diffrence. thanks ram

dieselminded - Injectors are very simple if you can turn a wrench the hardest part is getting the valve cover off (not much room between engine and cowl I think I paid around $350 + cores for them and installed them myself as for the auto I dunno but with the EZ and injectors if I start out at a low rpm and stomp on it I can slip the clutch, but if I watch what I am doing it wont slip, so on the auto I would probably look at upgrading it. As for the airbox just unbolt it and take it out and discard the tube that goes between the box and the fender, cut the hole (that goes into the box from the tube) bigger with a die grinder or sawsall. With the silencer ring missing you can really hear the turbo whistle
