2001 ETH Price

There is a 2001 2500 4x4 ETH 6 speed, quad cab short bed with 65,000 miles on for sale in my area it has every option other than power seats. It also has a VA chip, Jacobs Ex. Brake, and the ball in the bed already installed, with the brake box in the cab. The truck looks brand new inside and out, it looks like it has never been driven. however it does need a new set of tires. the guy wants $26,000 for it . That sounded a little high to me? what do you guys think?

Paid $21,500 for mine at a dealer. 2001.5 ETH six-speed 4x4, black, tinted windows, brake controller, straight-piped. Every option except leather and carpet. Very clean, no GN ball.

That was what I was thinking as well. Do you guys think that the Exhaust brake and the Chip should affect the price of the truck that much? I looked at the Blue Book Value, which said that it should be around $23,000. Anyways thanks for the input.

No, I don't think so, but it depends on the buyer. If you were already looking for those mods, then it's fine, but don't pay extra for them if you didn't already want them. Generally, I'll add 1/3 the price of the extras to the price of the vehicle when trying to figure out a fair price. To the average consumer, they're worth nothing, and to an enthusiast, they might be worth 2/3 the new price... That's just how I do it.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I added up all the extras that the truck has, then took half of that and added it to the Book Value. I came up with a top price of about $24,500 or so. I think that the guy will be willing to negotiate.

Thanks,
Clay

That still sounds a little high to me. I bought a 01slt quad cab, long box with 87000 miles on it last year for 20000. It was stock though. I think that he is going off the top dollar for that truck. You will hardly ever get top dollar if you are trying to sell. I would work on him a little. Try to get in down to 23K. But I have not seen the truck either, maybe it is just what you want and you think that the truck is worth that. Good luck.

I paid a little high at $28000 for mine in Febuary, 2002 same setup 4x4 loaded 40k miles. When you are without an option they really can stick it too you

like others have said you can have a new one 33000 makes your think.

To me it's still a little high. I paid 24,000 for mine over a year ago, and it has every factory option plus about 2,000 in extras. If it's the pickup you want and it has what you want then go for it.

I'd agree it's still high, but it's YOUR money. The general market gives no value to peformance mods. Often they are really a detractor in the marketplace. Who wants somebody else's hotrod?

FWIW I got mine last year with 30K miles for $25K.

I looked for 6 months before pulling the trigger. During that time I came up with a price formula that held to be quite accurate.

Subtract $1000 for each year of age and Subtract $0.10 per mile from street price of new. If it meets that test I'm interested...if it doesn't...I'm not. That truck shold be about $33k - $4k - $7k = $22K
