Will my 2001 Edge EZ hook up to a 2000, or do I need an adapter?

No, the 01 EZ is not compatible with a 00 truck......the MAP sensors operate at different voltages. The adaptor that is supplied with the 98.5 to 00 EZ's is to allow that model EZ plug into the 2 different style MAP sensor connectors that came on the 98.5 - 00 models.

I've seen them cheap ($29.00 or less). Not sure where though? Maybe Genos?

The adapter WILL NOT WORK. He was just telling you that the adapter Edge has is for different shaped connectors on the 98-2000 trucks.

the adapter is to run a 2001 edge on a 2002 truck i am pretty sure. 98.5-00 are different from what i am told.

100% right njoverkill 2001-2002 same box different plugs adaptable between the two.
98.5-2000 same box different plugs adaptable, 2001-2002 to 98.5-2000 not interchangeable

That's interesting, the VanAaken box works on 98.5 to 02. I wonder how it deals with the different voltage?

My mistake- my buddy's is a '99. However, the MAP sensor plug looks the same. I'll get the 'word' from Edge on Monday.
