Schm,
If you are going to stay mild and just want the EZ, you might want to save your $$$ on the exhaust and intake. You probably won't get any "performance" out of them.
I'd spend some of that money on some gauges especially fuel pressure and call it a day.
good luck,
Jason

Can find rv275's injectors cheap, and a small box like was mentioned above.
Guages are a must. particulary the fuel and egt if you want injectors.
Remember that this stuff is HIGHLY addicting. A lttle goes a long way but alot is better

Dieselcamper, you tried an XZT+?
I'd think that would be about as good as can be had for towing.
JStull gave great advice. If you're keeping it mild, forget the intake and exhaust. You just need a mild box to deliver a bit more fuel.

I'm gonna have to disagree on that one. If your towing, you want to run nice and cool and not have to worry all the time about egts. I say get the gauges, go to napa and get a BHAF, and get a nice budget 4 inch exhaust, with or without the muffler(your preferance), and also get something like an XZT+. A good intake can drop egts 100* and a good exhaust maybe 50*. When you add more fuel it will run hotter.

If you're relying on an aftermarket exhaust to be the difference between "safe" and "marginal" then you're overfueled and/or driving wrong.
Even if a larger exhaust drops a couple degrees EGT, there's no way to know if that translates into cooler running pistons and valves or not.

I understand if you like the noise, but you can get it "loud" without springing for a whole intake and exhaust.
The BHAF from NAPA that was mentioned above is a nice setup and I think you can get them for under $50. Yank the silencer ring out of the turbo also.
And delete the muffler on your stock exhaust. Total, if you do it yourself, would be about $75 for everything. An intake runs from about $200 and up and a cheap 4" full exhaust will cost around $250 to $300 I believe. You can shop around on that stuff but it's still an extra $400.
Just throwing that out there, I wasn't sure if you were aware of the cheap stuff that will make it louder.
Take care,
Jason

The silencer doesn't help or hurt anything-- it just reduces turbo whistle.
You can see it in the inlet of your turbo if you take off the intake hose. It's held in place by a lockring that you can fish out with a pair of small flat screwdrivers or similar. I think I used a scratch awl and a screwdriver.
It looks like a "flange" inside the turbo inlet, about 3/8" inch thick right around the inside rim of the turbo's intake (almost up against the blades).
You can't miss it. Fishing the ring out can be a pain sometimes-- others have it come right out, so your truck might be easy or difficult.
