2-stroke mix

i know we have been over this before but......are there any side effects to running 12oz of dino 2 stroke per tank of diesel in a 24 valve 2001.

i know some say it quiets the motor and gives some mpg increase but will it effect peak power because of the 2 stroke in the fuel?

I've been running it for close to 100,000 miles in my truck with 0 negative effects.

If your only running 12oz per tank, you might not even notice a difference of any kind. The rule of thumb is, for me anyhow, is 1oz per gallon.
Ive never heard/read of anyone having any power loss with 2-stroke.

sorry
i have not ran any yet so i was just guessing at a ratio? ive heard of people using 16oz to a tank but i just didnt know what the correct ratio was.
im just trying to prolong the components in my engine and this seemed to be a good place to start.

I've used it for about 30,000 miles. Also use somewhere around 1 oz per gallon.
So far so good. My original vp is still going strong.

I also run a tank with powerservice instead of 2 stroke about every 3rd or 4th tank.

I think it's basically a way for people to combat the lubrication robbing properties of the newer diesel fuels we're forced to buy.
The newest diesel trucks are engineered to run off this stuff, but our older systems really suffer without adding extra lubrication. So it would probably be a good idea to run it in your 12v, or at least something similar.
For the 24v, it's crucial to add some extra lubrication because of the vp44 system.

2 stroke oil is cheap, readily available, and has been proven by independent testing to be one of the best diesel fuel lubrication additives.

I run 16 ozs per tank. And I usually buy the walmart super tech marine tcw-3 but my local station buys a lot of wrecked/salvage semi loads of oil and I purchased around 70 16 oz bottles of the quicksilver tcw-3 for a 1.00 a bottle from him. Also bought a bunch of Delvac for 9.95 a gallon.

A 12v will swallow just about anything...2-stroke, WMO, ATF, ect...

But 2-stroke is the best to run. Cheap and made to burn. Go 1oz per gallon and dont look back...

Adding a bit of bio is a better lubricant than 2 cycle oil; but the hassle of finding it is not worth it for me. I have been putting a quart or 1.5 of 2-cycle oil per tank for a long time now.

If you add a full quart or more, you will notice a little more smoke when you take off. Other than that I only have positive things to say about using it as an additive.

2cyl oil, it took a couple of tanks....

It took me 2 or 3 tanks running 2pt's of 2cyl oil per full fill up to notice my truck running quieter. But now its VERY obvious that its much quieter. Family can't even here me pull up in the driveway now.

I try to stay to 1oz per gallon.... ok so its sometimes a lilttle more but not by much. If I know its going to be almost a full fill up.. 32 oz gets added to the tank before I put the diesel in.

The ONLY time I dont use it is if and when I get my hands on some B20 or better... and with the prices being so high this last summer I hardly EVER bought bio.
