When i did mine i had the trac bar loose and everything at full droop. I still had to use rachet straps to get the springs back in. I also put an add a leaf in the back for 2". Man, does it look good.

Advance auto or auto zone(or a similar store) will rent a spring compessor and when you take it back in you get your money back so it cost you nothing and will make removal/install much safer and quicker.
