2" front spacer install tips

i just installed some 2" top gunz spacers on my 2001 2500 and a 05 2500 and thought id share some tips/instructions.
i did not disconnect any other parts except spring/shock parts

you will need a coil spring compressor that goes inside coil spring. i rented one from autozone. you will also need a bottle jack.

assuming you already have the truck jacked up supported on frame and wheels off here is what i did.

started passanger side cause its easy
took my intake off to access shock tower
took off 3 bolts on tower and disconnect lower shock bolt from axle
i didnt remove top shoch nut!
pull assembly shock/tower out.
put spring compressor in spring and tighten untill u have like 2inches above spring
install bottle jack inbetween L bracket on frame and flat above upper arm
jack untill you have plenty of room to get spring out see pic for location
remove spring
put oem rubber on spacer and install
assemble in reverse order

on driver side its a little harder because you cant pull out the 3 bolt shock tower w/shock attached because of brake master cylinder
so.......what you need to do is take top shock nut off and remove tower seperatly from shock
thats the only difference between sides
i didnt remove swaybars or pitman arms or anything
so truck is still aligned and drives normal
took about 40min w/one person in driveway

i always unbolt the sway bar and it takes no time at all. no need in using a bottle jack if you got a block and a floor jack.

Unbolt sway bar, leave the spring compressor at autozone,I dont care how you use them, every one I ive seen at autozone are cheap, and they are dangerous. The commercial duty wall mounted ones are the only way to go.With the sway bar unhooked,(about 1 minute a side with air tools,)the front axle will drop away, and you can slide the spacer in.

yeah, coil compresssors are for car springs.

all I did was jack the truck up on jack stands, pull the wheels off, unbolt upper shock bolt, put a couple of 2x4s under where the disks would sit on the ground, let the axle down, springs fall out, install spacers, springs, jack axle up, reinstall upper shock bolt and wheels.
