2" coil spacer on 5" lift coils

Alright guys, I've been thinking about doing this for some time now, I have a 5" superlift already and want a little more clearance. What I'm wondering is, with the longer arms that I have already with the 5" Superlift, do you think that they will work ok adding a 2" coil spacer on top??? I thought about going with the skyjacker 7 1/2" but with the money I already have invested in my 5" and then shelling out $3K for the Skyjacker, I think I will look down a different road!!!

I know that you can add a 2" spacer or even 3" and still use the stock arms, so I think that I should be fine seeing how I already have the longer arms than stock............

I guess worse case, I would have to get some longer arms. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Well to tell you the truth, I would look for some 7" skyjacker coils and get a Dick cepek long arm kit. With the 2" spacers stacked ontop of the 5" coils is going go give you a jarring ride when you hit a bump. You can sell you 5" coils and short arms easily.

But on the other hand I know guy on PS.come that is running 40" ground hawgs with only 6.5" of lift. Via 4.5 skyjacker and 2" daystar and is running the GHs on 16.5x9.75 rims.

A buddy of mine is running 37's on a 4.5" skyjacker with 2" spacers up front and stacked blocks in the rear. It works great. He used the stock arms that came with the skyjacker kit.

It already rides like a freakin tank, so I'm not to worried about that!! I guess the only way to find out is to buy the spacers and see if they work and go from there. I hardly ever drive the truck, it's more of a toy than anything.

And where in gods name can you find a dick cepek long arm kit?!?! I thought those fellas went out of business? I know mickey thompson still sells the tires but I didn't know that the suspension existed anymore! I wish those guys where still in business, they made some great products!!

I wish I would have gone with the skyjacker 7 1/2" to begin with, but that price tag is a KILLER!!

[QUOTE=Dr. Evil]Gotlift01,

>>>That ain't no Joke!! I just really don't want to spend the extra money on another kit having already spend enough on the one I have now. I could always sell what I have now, but that is such a pain in the A** and I would take a beating on it..............so I'm trying to figure out another option to try first!!

It shouldn't be to hard to make longer arms......should it?? I think at the most I would need maybe 1" to 1.5" to center it up if at all.

Dr. Evil,

Do you know if you can just buy the long arm kit without having to buy the rest of the parts??? I really like that setup, but don't really need any of the other parts in the kit!

Cool, thanks Evil!! I'll do some checking around and see what I can find, I wouldn't think that it should be that hard to find something

Unfortunately it's not that simple....if the geometry isn't right, it'll never align and drive right. Upper and lower CA's are different lengths for proper caster. Anything over 4" of lift really should be a long arm set up, simply lengthening the upper and mounting it in the factory position with result in drastic caster changes when the suspension cycles.

Also not a a big fan of stacking spacers on top of tall coils, you'd be better off going with a custom 7" coil with a better spring rate.

Are you running the Superlift kit with the radius arms?

I guess that why they sell it as a "system" isnt it?? And also why you just cant buy the parts seperately.

There's actually several places you can buy individual components, quite a few guys over on pavementsucks have bought the DC long arms and mounts, and I know of another guy who just got Fabtech CA mounts by themselves.....

Even if you bought the whole kit, it's not the same "system" when you lengthen the CA's.

Yeah I have the superlift system with the radius arms, they center perfectly right now and I don't think that it should change much if add 2 inches.......

And as far as suspension flexing, I'm not at all concerned, the biggest thing my truck flexes on is my sidewalk getting into my driveway It NEVER goes off road!!! And in fact I hardly ever drive the darn thing, it mainly sits and looks cool.

I'll check out that site with those Cepek arms, I've been a big fan of those suckers but I never knew where to find them!?!?!?

It'll move the axle back slightly. Since you already have a radius arm set up, you might want to look at these...
