1st gen gear ratio

I think my 4:10 rear end in my pickup is about to lock up, I would like to know what is the fastest gear ratio for a 1st gen with mods in my sig to replace it with

3.54. Or if you're lucky you could find a Dana 71 with 3.07's.

I think that 3.07's are virtually perfect for a non-worked Cummins.

You got the torque to really take advantage of a small rear end gear ratio.

do yall think that higher gear rear end would be faster in 1/4 mile than 4:10?
