1994 220k miles Auto Tranny need upgrade advice.
Hey guys, I havent posted on here for quite sometime, I am cumminsless for the moment but I have a buddy that has a 94 model 4wd Auto that he is hauling a 9500lb 5th wheel camper with. He is wanting a little extra towing power. He wants it to be safe on his tranny though for a little while at least. I always had 5spd trucks and am unfamilar with the autos and what they can handle. ANyone have any reccomendations as far as what Plate to go with, does he really need the 3k GSK? Of course he needs intake and exhaust, (can you still get Scotty intakes for 2nd gens?), and gauges are already on the way. Basicly he is looking to get the most power he can without killing his auto instantly, and for the best price possible...Please give us a hand with some ideas.
THanks

Anyone? I talked to Mark at PDR, he reccomended a #10 plate, Mega Cannon Intake, 3kGSK, and 4" exhaust...That is a pretty simple setup, just wondered if anyone else had any other reccomendations..

Safe for the tranny. Just add the 3gsk (or look for the free gsk thread) and for free slide the stock plate forward about .050. Or get a #10 plate, it is the best all around plate. It will really help it without spending much, and it is pretty safe for the egt and tranny. As far as air (exhaust, air intake, EGT), you wont need mods without exceeding the limits of the tranny.
