19.5 wheels for my truck???

I just saw a non-dually Dodge the other day and it had 19.5 rims with Michelin tires that were rated at around 4000 lbs single at around 110 psi! Those have to ride like a solid tire. The rims looked like they were grey with a chrome beauty ring. They also had around some 10 2" holes in them. Kinda looked like the rims off an Issuzu Trooper (spelling?). Just bigger.

Forgot to add, I dont know where you are located but you might want to try Stockton Wheels in California, if you are still looking for rims. They are supposed to be really good. Dont know their number and I dont know if they even have an E-mail but I'll look though.

the main problem is i don't want to pay 750 dollars for a set of adapters, or 250 a piece for the rims. i am trying to low buck it. i have a set of 22.5 alco rims from a peterbuilt and i am fixing to pick up a set of 19.5 with brand new tires today. they are off a 2004 f550 and i would not have to raise my truck a bit to get them to fit. so i am torn on deciding which ones to go with.

i bought the f550 tires, but i now have buyers remorse. i need to gear up my rig and the 225/70R19.5 are just not as tall as i would like, they are only a little bit taller than my 235/85/16s. so it looks like i am back on getting the 22.5s

i sold them, they were not worth the trouble, the rims off a frito deliver van seem to be the way to go. they are the right bolt pattern but the they would not be hubcentric. so you would need to get some machine work done to make them perfect. i just put a set of 285s on my dually with a 2" spacer. it was simple and cheap way to get a 33" tire.

i've got 8x19.5's on my step van and am having trouble finding rubber to fit. i went to good year and they laughed at me.
they said i couldn't go metric without getting a wider rim. six bolt pattern. i guess it's off to the scrap yards.... twin cities,MN

This page is useful although it doesn't have a 19.5 on there. Looks like the 225/70r19.5 would be about a quarter inch taller than the 235/85/16. Looks like just a 255/85/16 would be an 1.4 inches taller than the 235's.

there is pic from the rear in my gallery. we just put a set of the same 285s on my buddie 01 2wd dually with some 5/8ths spacers between the wheels. we did a 1" spacer on the coil springs on the front.
