I have been searching for some 181 dv's but no luck. Just 191's and I don't really need those. Any help would be awesome.

 

The 181s came in 12 valves with a stick in 1997 for sure (235HP). I do not know if they are available after market

 

Look for someone that has swapped out DVs in their 96-98 manual pump (215 hp) You take the 181 and send your little 161 or 171 back as cores.

With the smaller pumps the 191 will work well..I have LC in mine and no problems with EGT,just a small twick on the star screw and AFC.

 

I'm just worried when my gf takes my truck to ride her horses. Its only about 5k but she has a hard enough time driving with just the trailer let a lone all the gauges I tell her to watch... I need a fool proof truck, so 181's are what I want. I know they come out of 96- 5sp's but I was wondering where to purchase them. Thanks on the scheid lead.

 

Not to Hijack, but what are 181 and 191 dv's and LC? and what do they do?

 

All three control the amount of full pumped to the injectors.The 181 valve has a little bigger shoulder than the 191,which means the 191 will fuel a little harder than the 181.The laser cuts have no shoulder and fuel to the max...
