You'd be surprised how big an injector you can get away with if you have a little skinny pedal moderation.
Yes, the VA will make them smoke a little more than they otherwise might.
The injector maker you choose will be the biggest determinant. I'd only consider a small handful of 150hp sticks remotely streetable. Both of them are EDM. Then again, many people have different definitions of streetable. Some people think a tube-chassis, full-cage, hi-stall, 4.56-geared, blown big block Nova with no heat, no radio, and nothing else but HP and a thirst for race gas is "streetable". Not me.
I don't worry about high EGTs when I think of streetable. I think of smoke. If I can drive around town and not fog the road uncontrollably, then I'm happy with that.

My 4's have a lot more no smoke power than my old stage II honed injectors. Much better for daily driving for me. I can pull into traffic and accelerate with just about no smoke at all now.
They CAN smoke very heavy is I nail it off boost, but I have to try to do that and it is all related to the skinny pedal. I would assume 5's are just a bit worse.
Stock turbo here so far. No other issues yet. I would think you could get away with the 5's for quite a while.

Not to get side tracked...
Rowland you put down 521.2 with 150 HP Mach 4 EDM's.
Sleds you put down 571 with 150 HP jammer EDM's.
Rowland has the mad ECM/TST PM3.
Sleds has the drag comp.
Does that drag comp account for that much of a diff??
I would think the MAD ECM/TST PM3 combo would be stronger.
Both have pretty comparable turbos.
Another question??
I thought Don's new M 4's were going to be rated higher then 150 HP?

521.2 HP/1122 ft-lbs - (no meth) Dynojet 248c, 3-16-05
571HP 1096FTLBS.

I would not agree that the turbos are comparable. Sledpuller HTB2 has much bigger compressor, I believe.
My TST is not a comp model and while the MAD ECM is stronger on low end....at wide open throttle it does NOT add any fuel over stock.

The sledpuller has a 4mm bigger inducer wheel. The exhaust side will probably flow more than the ksb-1 also. My numbers were done on a MD2500. One thing I've always wondered is how do the company's rate their injector? Is it with a stock turbo or a large enough turbo to burn the amount of fuel delivered?

Every MD 250 I have ever seen has read considerably lower then the dynojets.
