Re:14cm housing

Going from 12 to 14 will not create that much more lag. Just make sure you get a wastegated one. The wastegated ones are kinda hard to find used. Piers has them new as does Turbomaster around $425. You will have an excellent setup with Don's EDM's. They smoke less and I am sure by now you've read they have more low end grunt and on the top you will be all

Rip Rook has the EDM's on sale this month. Catch him at www.sourceautomotive.biz

Re:14cm housing

FWIW -

I am running a Banks wastegated 14cm housing. You can get them from Banks but their products are a little pricey - occasionally you will see them on ebay for a little less than they can be bought over the counter - but IMO sometimes things sell on ebay for more than they should. Also I think I saw some wastegated 14cms on City Diesels website.

I have no objective measure of EGTs when I had the 12cm vs the 14cm as I installed the gauges at the same time I put the 14cm on. It is my understanding that for the same level of boost the egts on a 14cm should be lower than those on a 12cm because of lower back pressure.

I was running the 14cm on an HX35 with RV275 and a Banks Ottomind box and there was very little turbo lag (that set up was great till I wanted just a bit more).

Now I am running the 14cm with an HX40/35 (Dodgezilla), (Don's)EDM IIs and a PM3. There is a little lag at low RPMs with the PM3 off. But turn the PM3 up a bit and there is virtually none. ;D 8);D

The 14cm works great for me (for now :).

Good luck,

George
