Snows is a brand. Their top of the line offering is the Stage three. Willy91 has on, he ought to be popping in here soon, he loves his. Never heard anything bad about any of the Snows kits.

I really like the stage 3. Hust for the way it operates, you can pretty much set it and forget it until you run out of fluid. This come in especially handy if you tow alot with it because it helps conserve fluid, and it has a manual overide if you want to use it for race/competition uses. Goodluch with your search for a 12v I'm sure you'll love it.

i know the stock clutch cant hold much (i'd get a southbend con fe), but hows about the 5 spd tranny?

how much horse you think a stock 5spd can handle w/o risking it?

i'd rather get a manual and put more into making hp, than an auto trans.

lemme put it to u this way.. stock clutch is good to about 330 horse max, ask me how i know LOL, the five speed tranny is really good, just dont lug it in fifth gear, I usually dont let my tach drop below 1500 and if its there or about to get there, i downshift a bit, to prevent the famous fifth gear nut failiure, it has not happened to me yet (knock on wood) but it is a common problem with these trucks.

So far as the tranny goes, how much can it handle? ID say anything over 400 rwhp and ur askin for trouble with the stock input shaft... I do remember readin gunracer1's thread where he snapped one at 400 horses.

Besides, u say now that ur only gonna want a little more gain, take it from me and everyone else on here thats how it starts, I only wanted 350/750 when i started, i achieved that, and still want more... lol... so..... yeah. U might wanna look into the Con O FE southbend for 550 horse, you might actually need it once u get ur 12v BOMBed and goin

Good for all a single disc will hold and then some... Not sure where the line is, but is is a lot of power. If you upgrade the input shaft.

yea, right now im looking leaning towards the 96 2wd manual.
plus it should have the 215 pump right?

so all a manual really needs is an input shaft, southbend setup($800-$1000), and is there a fix for the 5th gear nut falling off or no?

im also curious how much hp can you have, and still be able to hook up w/ 2wd?
i was planning on running some sort of wider drag radial on the back, if i go 2wd.

anyone have a steet rod 2wd ctd in here?
whats the fastest manual CTD built by a person / company? (QTR MILE TIME)

Oh Yeah ! There is quite a few folks on here pushing BIG numbers ! Really Big numbers ! The Cummins is an AWSOME engine when its given the proper nutrition

There is a updated 5th gear nut that fixes the problem.

There are a few guys on here that I believe are in the 500hp range with 24v engines and two wheel drive.

I am not big into drag racing, but I believe there are guys with sticks in the 13s. Not sure what kind of HP they are pushing, but I would guess most of them have 4x4 to help with the launch. I'm sure drag radials would help with traction, if you could get them for 16 inch rims...

thanks, i was planning on 2wd for 3 reasons...

no front axle to maintain
no trac bar
better mpgs by a little.

plus im going to build an offroader, and use the ctd to pull it around.
