what did the 96 ctd roll out of the factory with at the wheels imo i should be setting a little higher than 300 i was of the opinion it was closer to 350-375 especially with a 5spd just curious if i went to dyno right now and it was 300 or less i would be severialy disapointed
The 96 manuals are a 215 BHP, some we've dynod around 190hp bone stock
And your sig says you just have a 0 plate correct.Or more, Have you done anything to the inside of the AFC besides turning the star wheel.?

yeah im fixin to put in the soft spring from tst ive got 0 plate, housing,and star wheel slid all the way forward didnt want to gut my afc cause is a daily driver i read somewhere about swaping the washer around but i didnt clearly understand it so i didnt want to try it also going for a 4000gsk and 60lbs spings and hopfully a cam what else can i do with my afc ?

The washers inside the AFC housing can be swiched around to allow more rack travel stock is the blue arrow and red is the modified washers, and the front of the AFC foot shaft can be grinded down some about 1/4" to free up some more travel where the red arrow is pointing. And if you want more off boost down low fuel you can take some off the face of the foot where the blue arrow is pointing.

ok thanks dzlfarmboy but two questions is that bigger washer already in the housing or do i need to get a nother one what do i do with the little washer that the 215 pumps have and lastly does the afc foot have to be curved like that (blue arrow) or can it be straight how much should i take off and will this help get me off the line quicker? thanks

i also put the high idle fuel screw all the way in and now it fuels to 3000-3100 rpms heck yeah the truck is great but doesnt seem to pull as hard at the bottom but it pulls better than it did at 2500 plus also my boost dont seem as high any suggestions thanks for the washer and afc foot pics it made things a lot clearer

I have a 1998 12 valve with the 180 pump, FTE 435's, CFM+ intake, S&B cold air, 4in downpipe to 5in under truck-6in mitres, 17 degrees of timing, HTS extreme duty trans with billit triple disk convertor,
Stock turbo, delivery valves..

this threads been dead a while. kinda wondering where yall think im at. mines a 96 180hp with nv4500 (used to be an auto), 3.55s, 370s, afc mods, 100 plate, 4kgsk, intake and exhaust. ive got a rack plug on the shelf and need to get timing done. Thinking about 17.5 degrees

Well the truck this thread is on did 425hp with pretty much what you have with the rack plug if everything else was done right. He was at 18* timing
