12v mods
I may be making the move from my 2000 to an earlier 96-98 12 valve. I'd want to bomb it fairly quickly. How much power can be had on a stock pump? I want to have around 600hp (eventually) without using Nitrous or Water/Meth. Anyone know a good combo?

Lots of ways to get 600 RWHP..... You will need more than a stock pump though, plan on around 500+/- HP with a stock 215 pump as max. Other considerations is what you want from your truck..... Do you tow, if so how much? Budget? Do you want to run twins or a single? Drag race or sledpull?

Id like to have a truck that I could slep pull and drag race. I'd like to run a large single (like a Bell USB 62), large injectors (435s?), laser cut DVs, lots of timing and whatever else is needed. Id keep the 215 pump stock for awile because I know its a big $$$ item. Id like to have 500rwhp on the stock pump and then have a bit of spray on those close races. Id like to have the same setup and the guys that runs black cloud on here, I forgot his name. Tranny wise Im researching how to get mine into a 12v.

I'll let you know when I get there...only I'm going Twins!!
As for the tranny, you're should be a 47RE. I'm not sure when they started using them, but I know 98 was. It should go right in![Wink](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

BTW, What else do you want to know??

Here's what I would do if it was mine:
435 injectors
100 or 0 plate
LC Dv's
twin setup(similar to the piers street twins or something equivalent)
I would think that those would deffinently put you at or over 500 HP. I said run a twin setup, because now that I have gone twins I will never go back JMO

96 to 98 had the 47RE, I believe 01-02 they changed something in the valvebody and they would not work with an older PCM, but even if that is the case a valvebody swap/modification would fix it right up.

this is what you have to do to change your trans over:
1, take it out of the 24v
2, put it in the 12v
the only way you are going to get a 215 pump is if you buy a manual truck, or a pump from a manual truck. The 47REs came with 180 pumps. the 47RHs came with 160 pumps. you should be able to get 500 with a 180 pump, laser cuts, big injectors, 4k gsk, and a plate.
I have a hawk torqueflite valvebody, and it is set up to shift at 3300 rpms. More RPMs means more useable HP.

I would think 500 on a 180 would be about max...IF you have enough charger. I was at 400 with stock injectors on a 175 pump, and had a little plate travel left![Wink](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I just bought a 98 12v Auto...but it's getting the 913 pump I have, and a set of Custom built Twins![Big Grin](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Not sure where I'll end up, but I know it'll be a bit more than I thought![Laughing](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing.gif)

a big single like a sp66 timing 24* 4k gsk cut dv's 370'2 or bigger agressive plate pump set up on flow bench (not expensive just have to remove the pump) water/meth injection. should have you well into the 500's in not close to 600

Flying out Friday morning![Big Grin](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Gotta get a tranny first, then the parts will start going on
I have no idea how long it'll take to save for a Full Billet DTT??? It'll be worth it though![Big Grin](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Yes with the valet
Pretty much the valet allows you to run on injectors and delivery valves alone, it takes the plate out of the equation, while its in the on position, for lack of better terminology If you turn it off, you allow the plate to be put back in the equation and u get much more fueling.. ***** drives around at 500 or so with the valet on, off he is at 750.
