12V head on a 24v block?

12V head on a 24v block?
I just finished up a p pump 24v project, and I'm happy with it, but I am wanting to build a 12V motor now because I didn't like fooling with the poor quality pre-bent lines for the conversion. I have a 24V block to use, and I can get a 12V head to use as well for the build, but my question is will it work? I notice when you buy head studs you have to specify if it's for a 12v or 24V...so I'm thinking there might be a difference in length of the studs. The 24V block is also a stronger block and offers the added oil drain for a compound turbo setup eventually. Any info from anyone who has done this would be appreciated.

I have done this and yes you can use a 12v head on a 2nd gen 24v block without any mods. You will have to use a 12v head gasket, push rods, head bolts or studs, 12v inj's and a 12v exhaust manifold. Simple as that.

A little? I would think a LOT. Again, offset fuel bowl.
There are a lot of fools that do machine work on pistons, *beware*.
If they try and do it on a lathe, be really skeptical. IMO the only practical way to do it properly is on a rotary table or independent jaw superspacer in a mill using ball end milling.
In theory it can be done on a lathe with a rounded cutter, independent jaw chuck, and careful CNC programming, but I have yet to see something properly done posted on the net.
I am skeptical the numbers would work out for the amount of meat you'd need to take off to *properly* locate the bowl for the 12v injector location.
Were it my build, I'd just use 12v pistons for the 12v head. You can still play with the bowl if you want to drop compression ratio.
