Timing and GSK First...after gauges of course, but sounds like that's done
Them slide the stock plate forward and see if he wants more! Then go to a #10 plate 'till he want's more again!
Warn him upfront about the slippery BOMBing slope too...I wish someone would have put a padlock on my hood waayyy back when I bought the 95

Yeah it is pretty dang addicting!! I don't think he'll get to crazy, he uses this truck for work pulling horse trailers so he can't afford to get too nuts.
Plus I don't think he wants to drop tons of cash to throw in a beefy tranny ( cuz it's an auto ) so it'll have to stay mild for that reason too.
So how hard is it to do the timing on these trucks?? Does it involve any special tools? And what's all involved in installing the GSK?
Thanks guys

Timing takes some special tools, but it's not hard! I did the 95 the other night! Took about 4hrs, but me and Brandon (joefarmer) don't work too hard then there are 10 people in the shop!
GSK is done throught the side or top of the pump...not real hard as much as tedious. Have to make sure you don't drop the springs inside the pump...and then getting them set right can take a little patience!

Timed my 96 today... set at about 18 degrees, it took me about 2 hours... was pretty easy except converting from metric to standard and back...both the gsk and timing are easy to do but very teadious and time consuming if you are nervous.
look at cumminsdatabase.com
go to articles and then 12v fueling. it will have many diagrams and info on there as far as being able to view what you about to do. Also take the time to read wat these guys write on her it really helps!
