Re:12s Baby!
Thanks again, guys. It feels good to be a part of the "club"...
Stake,
The truck was at the full stock weight minus the tailgate. I also took all the stuff out of the inside of the truck (my tools, spare parts & oils, etc) that I usually carry around day to day. Not sure about the exact weight, but dad's longbed weighed in at 6800, so I'd guess somewhere in the 6600-6700 pound range.
Bigcumminz,
I would say that 200+ out of a box for the 03s will be on the market before too long. The Common Rail is basically the exact same setup as the Duramax, and they're seeing almost 250hp gains by stacking boxes.... stock turbos and injectors. Like Justin mentioned, tranny upgrades will be a must though!
Doug,
It's looking like the track should work out barring good weather. I should have a little more by the december time frame I heard about your quick run yesterday... congrats on that yourself.
Powerwagon,
No problem... sorry for the confusion. Dad's 12v is right on the 12sec border as well! The 40s are very tough in my opinion. The turbo on my truck has about 75,000 miles on it (45k on mine, 30k on dad's 12v), and it is still tight and makes 40-43 lbs of boost daily. The spoolup is very quick, and it will give a noticable power increase over the stock turbo. Not sure of the exact pricing, but they're probably in the $1200 range for everything.

powerwagon:
To add to what my son already has posted, I gained
almost thirty (30 H.P.) horsepower when I went from
my HX-35/12 to Piers' HX-40/16. IMO, I lost no bottom
end at all and the lag is almost non-existent on my 96'
12 valve.

Re:12s Baby!
dodgeman,
I'm running the 16 cm^2 housing on my turbo. I've been told before that running the 18 cm^2 housing didn't add any more power on the dyno, but it will give a slight EGT break. I like the instant spoolup of the 16, though.
gsdog1,
Thanks! I'm running the complete stock suspension and wheels with Bridgestone Duelers in place of the stock Michelin LTXs. They offer a little more traction than the Michelins and are a little more agressive looking. I will say that the Michelins make prettier smoke though 8). I'm still contemplating bigger wheels and tires and just how big to go. It'll spin all 4 (well.. 3 actually) off the line at the drag strip if launched too hard, but the strip has a really slick starting line. Ironically it seems to get a better bite on the street than at the track. In 2wd, though, it's a lot of fun. Depending on the road surface it'll spool up through 1st, chrip at the top of first, light the tires when it shifts into second, and spin 'em through second until it shifts to third ;D.
