12 valve injecter nozzles?

Has anyone ever changed out the nozzle on a 12 valve injecter?Ther is a guy on e-bay selling 12 valve nozzles at 40 hp improvment they are supposed to be the equivlent to 215's which I'm looking for? The seller says just take my injecter out and put it in a vice and unscrew one nozzel and screw in the new?I have never heard of this? Anyone?

you could try that, i mean a 12v injector nozzle is really a simple device. But you need to be prepared to re shim the injector to achieve the right pop off pressure, you will need a nozzle tester for this. you could try just changing them and it may work just fine. i just dont think i would do that without knowing where they pop at when i was done. so if you want to you can try it, the ebay seller is right for the most part though. a brass jaw vice and a 15mm deep socket preferably 6 point but 12 will work. just take out the injector and remove the copper washer, then put the flat just below the treads in the vice and unscrew the nozzle body, replace the tip and reinstall everything like it was. the torque is 35-45 ft. lbs. you will be safe anywhere in that torque limit, and if you pop test them they need to pop at 260 bar.

I think they replace the nozzles and re-use the bodies when they rebuild injectors. My 215's are rebuilds.

Yea we repalced the ones in class with some bosch ones you kinda have to know how they work because you take each one apart and put the nozzles in where the old nozzle went but there is shims and spings that have to be precisley fitted for perfect pop off pressure. mario

The only special tools I use to remove injectors is a lugnut and a piece of conduit. You don't have to remove them to have them pop tested, the dealership can test them as well as a johndeere dealer but the last time I went to the dealer to get some tested they had the tester but didn't have the right adapter for them.

I know the place closest to me that does pop-testing told me $15 per injector, which also included new copper washers...
