Will my stock tranny hold a 100 plate slid full forward? I have a 8 plate in it now I do not tow anything. Thanks Cindy

It all depends on your painted toe nails and how heavily they press down on that skinny pedal. That's how I made my stock tranny last for so long doing things it should have never done.

I'd have to agree with BigBlue, It will last but only if you use your head and the power wisely...

I wouldnt count on it. When i first got my truck it had a number 8 plate and the trans held very well. I couldnt slip it at all. Installed a GSK and a 0 plate full forward and My stock transmission was begging for mercy! Well, my converter was any ways, which of course leads to other tranny problems. It may hold though, depending on how good of shape its in. You could always put that 100 plate in there and take it for a test drive and see how the transmission acted. If it was too much just adjust the plate accordingly.

Cindy Loo who...

Once u go to that 100 plate, you will never go back with anything less, I thought thats what u were running on the Built 12V tho..

anyways, with a stock tranny, just be nice and gentle with it for while..

Have a good one

Rick

Hey Rick, no 100 plate on the White 12V.

Full forward #100 plate on a 180 pump with a stock tranny won't work. The TC will be the first to fail and you will probably find the lock up clutch all but useless - it is just too much torque to hold onto. Taking it easy would have to be an understatement since you really couldn't use all the torque the #100 will give....not much point in having a #100 if all you want to do is take it easy anyway. If you want the tranny to last, be more conservative with the plate position or leave the #8 in......if you don't care about the tranny and are looking for an excuse to drop a built one in, by all means, install the #100 full forward!

Opinions do not damage or protect your truck(s) - it is the ECM between your ears that works the magic or the tragic.

A 100 plate will not damage the transmission - it's that nut on the steering wheel that requires damage control, if you can ascertain my meaning................

My stock tranny was slipped by my 100 plate in the stock position until I put the shift kit in it and about four quarts of Lucas Tranny Fix. No slippage now! I think the 370's,3kGSK and driving style probably had something to do with the slipping as well.

i know its not expensive,
could you give an overall review of how it shifts, drives and all that!

But anywhoo, I'd stick with what you have in there right now until you get the tranny beefed up a little bit......would hate to see you have 2 Dodges down and out with the tranny blues.

The trans-go is ok. I wish I had time to adjust it properly. I can shift down manualy into 2nd but not into first until it slows down enough. Supposedly the TC is not supposed to drain back but I have to warm the truck up before it will engage into D. From 1st-3rd I really dont have any problems, it shifts firm and has ended my slipping problem with the tranny. It shifts into OD in fourth way to early and I would love to postpone the shift but not exactly sure how to do it. The install was not too bad. I had to call Goerneds a couple of times for help and he walked me through it, even though I didnt buy anything from him. I would say it is well worth the $38 I paid for it.
