100 plate= wow

well last this past weekend i got all the bombs done in my sig and I couldn't belive how powerful the truck felt, but when i was looking at my plate I really felt like I could've made one. So my friend who also has a 97 12 and an extra plate laying around was willing to let me try. He has guages and my old straight pipe, we drilled holes in his air box, and then I drew what is basically a 100 plate onto the plate and we went to the bench grinder. the plate looked rough, but we put it in full forward and went for a drive. the truck will black out the road, hit 35 psi with no known wastegate mods and fairly quikly peg the pyro. He was very impressed with the power, but the plate will need to be slid back a little.

Also I was thinking of making either a 100 or a zero for a play plate to run after I get my clutch just for playing, which makes more power the 100 or zero.

they should be about equal from the mid range on up. The 100 profile has the advantage of not dumping full fuel off idle. I love my hand ground 100, too!

0 plate

you have pics in my gallery (pending approval currently) the zero is the most aggresseive plate out there, the 100 has the same top end but the zero is all out power on tap with lotsa smoke, the 100 will gradually feed then explode, as you found out, the zero is that explosion on all levels so to say...

If you wanna play? the 100 is what i chose, the zero is too much smoke, but if you want all out power, go with the zero... and get the smoke..

Is there a diagram of either of these plates so that one can grind their own... not that I'm thinking of doing such a thing - Never would I want to turn up the power on my truck

There are pics in folks galleries. I have a pic of the three different plates side by side in my gallery.

So you boys are just grinding them out on a snag grinder from a stock plate? Reason I ask is I have a stock plate and I highly doubt I will be putting that back in anytime soon.

yes I just drew the profile on the plate with a marker, and then went at it with a bench grinder. The slope is a little less agressive than others ive seen but it fuels hard.

I started on the bench grinder, smoothed that up w/ a dremel tool, then used and oil stone to polish it up.

Just a warning, don't forget to adjust the AFC lever when you put a new plate in or push it forward or back. If the lever slips under the plate it could possibly damage the pump.
