10-12 mpg w/mach 1.5's
This is a rough estimate but I know it is not good. I don't think my speedo has been recalibrated for my 305's but it shouldn't be that significant should it? My driving routine involves stop and go neighborhood driving and some dallas highway cruising 75-85. My fuel pressure is 15@idle and 11-12 cruising. I checked my IAT several months ago and it was fairly clean. I usually run w/the comp turned completely off so what is the problem w/this fuel guzzler? Where do I need to start to get up to the 17-20mpg range w/everyone else or is this only possible in an automatic on the highway??? Are 6-speeds just that pathetic? Oh the best I ever got from full to 1/8th of a tank when the fuel light comes on was 350 miles I think and that is with 25 gallons... now it is worse than that? Can a fuel gauge be that junky? I replaced the sending unit a while back b/c the float had rotted off and the gauge was reading empty..I think that is all the useful information I got right now..Thanks in advance!

Do you floor it from every stop? (cause this is what i do.... and i only get about 12-14 mpg )
stop and go driving along with the 85 mph will kill fuel milage. But i wouldnt think it would make it that low.....

A little timing from the Comp on low settings would most likely increase your mileage. You have 4.10's? I do and I get around 16.5 mostly short trips to work and around town.

I only get on the skinny pedal on the highway when some dipstick gets in the left lane and drives 50..other than that I stay out of it w/the comp turned off. I hear everyone talkin about 500-600 miles on a tank before the low fuel light comes on...HA..I can't even get 400...????????

Hmmm, I used to get at least 17-18 with a lot of in town driving out of those injectors and I have .410's. On the interstate I was usually running 74-79 depending on the speed zone too. I don't get that kind of economy anymore nor have I been driving quite that fast lately.

Remember you have a Short bed with a 25Gallon tank and Long bed trucks have 35gallon tanks 10 gallons at 13mpg is 130 miles you get 370 miles on your tank is like me getting 500 on mine.
My best fuel economy comes with the comp on 2X3 or 3X2 there really close to each other.

Air up those tires first. Any codes? I've never had milage that bad- my worst is 15.5 with lots of black smoke and spinning duals.
Has the milage gotten worse recently or has it always been bad?

I have about the same set up you do with the comp and the 1.5's and i get 16 or so with 35 inch tires. one thing you should do is factor in the tire correction. i think for the 305's ot should be what ever your mileage is times 1.05. that should get your mileage up a little. I also run with my comp on
2x1 all the time. also if you dare run that thing down to just above the red empty line. that will give you around 100 miles more. that is how those guys get 500+ miles out of their tanks.
