10,000 to spend!! Recommendations

I have 10,000 dollars to spend to make this truck come alive. I need help deciding what route to take. I am looking for around 500 hp daily driver, Some light towing every now and then but nothing too extensive. The floor is open, tell me what you would do with it from the ground up! This is a great site and has helped me out alot, so Thanks in advance!

Good thing on the manual trans-- the money goes a lot farther.

Here's what I would do:

-- South bend clutch with upgraded 13.25 size flywheel. Add in beefy Quad 4x4 output shaft: $2000

-- Mach 6 injectors: $1200 (220hp)
-- Quad race box or XZT+/TST stack or TST/Smarty stack: up to $1100
-- Turbo(s): Compound turbos are great, but singles are a lot less headaches and way cheaper. Singles can make big power, but are only efficient to about 450hp unless you run higher than stock RPM. After that, they are using brute force to make power. Twin/compound turbos will have a TON more area under the curve, so even if the have the same "peak" hp on a dyno, the truck with the twin turbos will be a lot faster to accelerate and will yank a trailer much harder. The penalty to compound turbos are cost and complexity.

Well-tuned twins can support 500hp with only 40psi or so, and you won't even need to spend tons of money on headgasket upgrades and studs and all that.

Hey Jester If I were you I would read the Garrett thread and figure out a twin set based on one of those ball bearing chargers as the primary! Heck I almost wish I had waited a bit longer before I bought my Htb2 charger! I know this If I had that kind of money to spend I would have one bad ride!!

What single/twins do you recommend? I really like what I have been hearing about the silver bullet for a single, This is an area I know nothing about. So I will definately need a little help on the turbo side of things. Thanks for the replies so far

Don't forget getting fuel to the system

You may also cansider a FASS, and a short shift kit to help get it in gear with the aftermarket clutch.

Edit: also a cold air kit is always nice. and consider the Juice/Attitude, they make considerable power and come with a turbo timer and will defuel at a set egt

You should really talk to someone with practical experience on turbos, because all my talk on turbos is just theorizing and "I think". I have the stock charger on my truck and have very little firsthand experience with this stuff.

My comment earlier that you can make 500hp on 40psi with twins is doable, but you might not like the behavior of a setup that did this because it would be pretty laggy. It would be very efficient, but efficiency and reponse are mutually exclusive.

I've bloviated a lot on twins, so search on my name and read till ya bleed.

no joke!

But if you insist on putting this money in your truck, place it in the seat and roll the whole outfit off over the hill. Believe it or not, this WILL save you money. Ask me how i know (retorical question)

Course you wont do this, but you will agree with me in the end.....

Personally I'd buy a Fass then invest the rest. If you are sure that you want to put $10k into your truck, Here is the list.

Sell the Hypertech & Jammer 5's
1. Fass fuel system $600
2. Industrial Injection Dragon Flow [4 flow] injectors $650
3. Super Stock 62/71 turbo from HTT $1500
4. Quadzilla Race box is coming soon $800 or so [I don't know]
5. Southbend Dual Disc 3250# $1700
6. Studs & orings $1000
You will have a bad tow rig & all out performance at the push of a button + some money to invest.
