#1 vs #2 diesel

I am amazed at the difference in running #1 in the winter & #2 in the summer. #1 has less parafin in it but is that the only difference. does anybody have any # for power out of #1vs#2.

I could dig up BTU content for you, but that wouldn't really tell you anything about a difference in power-- mostly just mpg.

Besides pure #1 is VERY hard to find except in places like where you are

Up here in canada 9 times out of 10 we don't even have an option, its just diesel.

#2 will gel at 20 or so without additive. #1 is good for much colder but is not as good as #2 for many reasons, less mileage, primarily.

#1 has about 5K BTU less/gallon than #2

Ya here to unless you go rural, the farming places offer #1 & #2 all year. But in the cities, it gets swapped over in the fall and spring and we don't have a choice in the matter

yea #1 is all they have at the pumps for probally 3more months. but my local oil sales place has a tank of #2. I just need a holding tank for storage.
