1.5 EDM's

So what kind of HP am I looking at on an ETH? They're rated at 85 hp but I've read they are really closer to 100 hp on the ETH's.... Anyone dyno with just these injectors? TIA Phil

I'm interested in this too.
Should I put injectors in before I install the Edge EZ?

These are 2.2 edm's but my 01 eth made 352.7hp and 729.2 tq with no fueling box and this was done a Dynojet 248. This was injectors alone with boost fooler and 4 inch exhaust with a htt 35/40 stage 3 with 16 exhaust housing.

First, please fill in your sig. so we can help you to the fullest extent. I would go ahead and throw in the EZ and then add the injectors. This would prevent you from setting an overboost code. The boost elbow and fooler that come w/ the EZ prevent this. Then throw in some injectors and you'll really feel a difference.

Well, I think I got the signature in. I'm new to this technology.
Anyway, once I get the guages installed (leaning towards Isspro's EV) then I can start playing.
What I'm really looking for is good reliablity and more power. I run about 80% empty and the other 20% pulling a 15,000 lb horse trailer.
With the truck running stock, I have always ran with the O.D. out and ran about 65 -70 mph. (traveling the midwest) I think the rpms were running around 2600. I would like to know if I make the improvements can I run with the O.D. engaged and lower the rpm's. That way I could get rid the the 4" drone.

4RGSP,
I'm not too sure how your stock tranny will like the injectors, but then again, it might not enough to cause some problems. It would be broderline. But, what I do know is that if you put in an EZ then throw in some injectors, chances are that's gonna cause your tranny to go 6 feet under, unless you do some mods to it 1st.

4RGSP, if your running above 55mph, turn OD on and go. I'd just do an EZ unless you want to modify the tranny.

If you did JUST the 1.5s and a boost fooler, you could probably run a stock tranny with this setup. What kills stock autos is the big hit of power that some boxes give on the low end.

the 1.5s are SMOOOOOTH power and MUCH easier on the driveline than a fueling box or EZ set on most aggressive because injectors alone follow the stock ECM fueling curve, which is soft on bottom (emissions).

Good point HOHN. Never looked at it that way. Still, Mach 1.5's are rated at close to 90hp and that's about all the stock auto can take. Add a 15k lb load on it and it's a ticking time bomb IMO.

1.5's

I just installed the 1.5's last Friday...made a huge difference in seat of the pants power with my EZ. I will be dynoing in Jan. to get some real HP & Torque numbers
I slipped my stock tranny with just my EZ towing my 27' TT, it only weighed about 8K!

Nobody ever said that horsepower didn't cost money!
I have also been told that with this year model and auto that the turbo will have to be increased to handle the 1.5's???
Maybe the trans will have to be taken care of first before the injectors. I'll start with the EZ and see where it goes from there.

Buff, what kind of egt's do you see towing with the new sticks? Also is your turbo stock?

If you are headed that way sooner or later, do yourself & your truck a favor...do the tranny first. It's a big step up in performance, all by itself, and will probably cost less to do it now while trans is in good shape.
You listed reliability as #1 concern....do the tranny first and you won't have to worry about adding too much HP to a stock unit. I was given this same advise when I started; had the funds so I did tranny first...have never been sorry.

Sixpack

I dynoed before & after adding 1.5 EDM's to my SO. Got 65 HP. However, this may not tell you much... was on an auto, had an EZ already in place, and, Mach 1.5's are a lot stronger than they were a year ago. ( I would not consider any other brand).

Rowland is right. The 1.5's have been through some changes. He had some of the first ones. I tell everyone they are around 85 HP. Most trucks make over 90 HP now!!
