'03+ --- New Injectors w/o box?
On '03 and '04 trucks, can you run bigger injectors without adding a box? I would think this would be harder for the dealer to spot, in case of warranty issues, than a box, right? Would evidence of the injectors show up in the computer like a box does? Thanks.

Thanks - that'd be great. I'm just trying to figure out how much power I can *probably* get away with and not have it noticed by the garage techs .

I would bet money that you would need some sort of boost fooler box so you dont set overboost codes like the 2nd gen trucks did
my 02 truck set overboost code at 22 psi (easily attainable with very mild injector upgrade)
dont know yet what the 03-04 level is

The only problem with running injectors and no box is that you will need a boost fooler to allow for higher boost pressures. The stock boost levels won't be enough for a set of 80 or 100 HP injectors.
On the box front, as of today, there is _nothing_ set in the ECM/PCM that a Chrysler dealer can see. The biggest indicator that a box has been installed is the velcro on the fuse box. That may change tomorrow, of course. Personally, I prefer to see my customers talking to their Dodge dealers and getting their thoughts on the add-on boxes. Many dealers will simply accept the lower powered add-ons (and in many cases, even sell them) without batting an eye.

Thanks, guys. Rod, that's a good point on checking with the dealer. I know they will vary some dealer-to-dealer on how many mods they'll ignore - maybe I'll just let that be the deciding factor in determining which dealer to order my truck through .

I was thinking maybe better milage and throttle response. Not necessarily just for the power. Maybe 50 hp EDM's or something.....I do not want to bomb away, just small beneficial changes to improve the overall package......maybe this is way off base :-

We have seen efficiency improvements from the 2nd gen injectors that lead to a mileage improvement, however mileage improvements on the 03 front havn't been there with the few customers that have installed extrude honed injectors. What magic Don can work up, who knows? ;D We do know that TST has seen some benefit from timing advances, so that tells me the stocker map isn't quite right.
