02 H.O. What clutch

Ok guys I modded a buds truck last night with a Comp in EZ mode. My question is ;

If he hooks up the wire what clutch would he need? and if he adds injectors will the clutch you suggest handle the power as well.

I am only interested in South Bend Clutches as IMO they are the best and that is what he will be getting, thanks.

Give peter a shout he is very good at talking to you about each clutch and saying why you should go with clutch A and not B because of C. kinda gives you a fuzzy good feeling that a buy who builds the clutch told you the Best clutch for your application

I should have added what dodgeman01 said, the southbend clutch line confuses me sometimes. Call Peter.

We'll save Peter the call, and give you a run down here, Jamie:

MU 0090 Con O - This kit features an organic lining with marcelled fins. This pressure plate has been modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will hold up to 400 HP, 900 ft.lbs torque. For the 1989 - 2003 5 and 6 spd (non-ETH) Cummins Dodge.

MU 0090 Con OFE - This kit features a dual friction (organic & feramic) lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will hold 400 - 525 HP, 1000 ft.lbs torque. For the 1989 - 2003 5 and 6 spd (non-ETH) Cummins Dodge.

MU 1947 Con 0 - This kit features an organic lining with marcelled fins. This pressure plate has been modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will hold up to 350 HP, 750 ft.lbs torque. For the 2001 - 2003 6 spd ETH Cummins Dodge.

MU 1947 Con OFE - This kit features a full feramic lining and an organic lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit is rated up to 450 HP, 1000 ft.lbs. torque. For the 2001 - 2003 ETH 6 spd Cummins Dodge.

MU 1947 Con FE - This kit features a full feramic lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This kit will hold 550 HP, 1100 ft.lbs torque. Years 2001 - 2003 ETH 6 spd Cummins Dodge.

MU 13 - 1.25 Con O - This kit features a full organic lining on a marcelled fin. The pressure plate is modified for higher plate load and smoothness of engagement. This clutch was designed to cure premature disk failure due to high horse power and heavy hauling in the 5 speed and early 6 speed non-ETH 12 1/4" clutches. We have taken the 13" ETH clutch and modified it to accept the 1 1/4" input shaft. By doing this, it enabled us to offer a disk center that is 2-3 times larger and stronger then can be provided in the 12 1/4" clutch kits. This kit comes with a flywheel, re-drilled and refaced to accept the larger clutch and is rated to handle up to 350 HP, 750 ft.lbs torque. For the 1989-2003 5 and 6 spd (non-ETH) Cummins Dodge.

There are a couple rules of thumb that need to be followed:
1) mate the clutch to the horsepower level. These clutches want the horsepower to properly seat themselves.

2) MU 0090 series for the the 5 speeds should not be used where the truck will be seeing tow duties above 8000 lbs (trailer and weight)

3) The FE series, which is probably the best clutch Peter builds, IMHO, will NOT withstand riding of the clutch. If you're using this clutch for tight maneuvering, you'll need to hit to 4-lo. Get off that clutch

I have not included either dual disk rigging in this post, as it doesn't sound like your friend is in need of one.
