02 Blowin White Smoke
Thank you all for the help with my cab light install. Now I have a real problem. At highway speed my truck will cut out on me and not pick up RPMs until I let up on it or kind of pump the pedal. But then it will run fine for awhile but it may do this for a couple of minutes. I changed the fuel filter twice and it seemed to run fine for about 50 to 100 miles both times and then go right back to the same old. Also, when it's at idle and you race up the motor it blows a lot of white smoke and will crack and pop out the exhaust until about 2 grand or better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To fill in your signature click on the User CP link on the upper lefthand portion of the page. How many miles are on your truck? Is it all original parts or have some things been replaced? Are you going through any coolant? Is the truck down on power?

You could have other problems, but if you are not going through coolant or oil and you are down on power when the smoke occurs, i'd second the VP 44 failure. That's why I wanted to know your mileage, recent repairs, etc. If you just changed the VP out like ten miles ago, I would be reluctant to jump to that conclusion.
