I just bought a 2002 dodge 2500 2wd quad cab short bed 5 speed. It has 81,000 miles on it.
I was want to see what would be the best performance accessory to increase fuel mileage and maybe give it a little more power. any help appreciated thanks

The right foot is the best mileage enhancer. Aftermarket products claim noticeable mileage gains - but I have never seen any significant changes after putting something on the truck.

However, the right foot does not increase power. That is left to injctors or a small box (chip). Before you think about adding power think about a better fuel pump to help the VP and some gauges.

Sootblower

Diablo puck is best bang for buck as it is a modest hp increase of 40hp but advances timing by remapping the fuel curve vs timing vs APPS position. About $200 or less. Needs a boost elbow or J hook to get full air boost (about 25 psi) releasing more fuel & hence hp and need guages for safety of engine. Chip module installs between VP44 and ECU with factory connectors. More timing advance and mileage can be achieved by making the IAT sensor think the truck is operating in the tropics.
