The design and testing phase of new weapon systems takes many years to complete. Much of the weaponry that is in use today, was conceived and designed in the 80's or earlier.

You are correct that Clinton did try to get rid of a lions share of it, however thankfully even after he cut the system to pieces, much of it still remained.

I think if you researched the subject thoroughly, you will see that the origins of the weapons you think were made during Clinton's term were in fact still in the testing and develop stage from prior years. Since you do not name any, other than smart bombs (which were used in the Gulf War) I have no way of knowing what you are referring to.

I can't think of a single weapon that has been designed, tested and then produced into battlefield use within the same Administration time frame. The nuclear bomb may be an exception to this rule, although it was battlefield deployed when their were only 2 in existence.

 

In the end it wont make much a difference. Kerry is pretty far behind in the polls now. If they are an indication of whats really going to happen on election day, he will need to try again in 4 years. It is not an easy thing to become a President after you have been a Senator. Too easy to attack the positions you take during your term or terms.

Speaking of voting records I'm looking at 116 pages of votes for the 108th congress. There are 480 issues to be voted on Kerry voted 182 times. That is 38% of the votes. If I was only at work 38% of the time I would be fired.
Speaking of No Child Left Behind Kerry was so worried about the funding of it he didn't even show up for the vote (check it out). So how can a man that was "to busy" to vote on funding complain about someone else. It seems to me that he is more worried about John Kerry being Pres. than children learning.

Enviromental issues- everyone wants clean air.... until we have to start paying 2 or 3 times as much as we are now. Think about it. These companies aren't going to eat the cost of redoing their processes we are.

The head of terrorism? Would this be the same man that told Bill Clinton for years that the problem of terrorism existed but was ingored. Than Bush is in office for 9months an it is all his fault?????

Companies bid for goverment contracts for a set number of years. Haliburton was that company under the great Clinton so if this war would have happened under Clinton guess what?????? Haliburton would still have had these contracts. This is a deception the Democrats have been pushing to mislead the public for their benefit. I know some people could not fathom the thought of the Democrats lying, but that is what it is. Some people would like you to think the Republicans are the only people that stretch the facts to fit their use but they are not.

I think you should check Snopes.com for anything you question,but don't let that be the only source. Some people on here research until they find what they want to hear than repeat it as fact.

 

It is painfully obvious he wasn't working on fighting terrorism in his 8 years in office!
