Not all oil field guys are roughnecks. the business has picked up and there are alot of worms out there and even some of the drillers and tool pushers aren't much more than worms... Lets face it,you need to put your time in to loose the worm status, not get promoted out of desparation to have another rig running.

I know a couple true cajuns that aren't rednecks. One engineer from LSU, born and raised in Lafayette, but just not a redneck.

Anyway, im so far behind in the breakroom, I check in to see if anything new has happened and wander on to other things.

There are more involved parts of the oilfield than roughnecks. All the roughnecks know is run pipe , pull pipe. Thats about it.. There are tons of different parts of the oilfield. Wireline, fishing hands, packer hands, rig hands (drilling and workover), consultants etc. I could go on forever.

Then you got us wannabe types that just sit in the office and dream up new tools to solve old problems.
Or we are the (insert several oilfield words) that seem to think we know more about the tools we designed than the company man that has been using them for two weeks.

Some engineers design tools that do not work. At times they don't understand what circumstances and conditions such as depth etc will do or affect a tool while in the hole. So the company men or packer hands do sometimes know more than the engineers do about the tools. The engineers might know how to make the tools but many times don't know how to use them so they will work properly.

So help me understand

If the towels in my bathroom are interchangeable with the ones I use to dry-off the truck, Does that mean I might be a RedNek?

Or

I own and wear 5 times as many Ball caps as I own suits that I rarely wear
Does that mean I might be a RedNek?

Maybe it just means you are single and do what you darn please

Which way is the ball cap worn. To the back, to the side, or in the front. Is it natural, folded in thirds, or bent in a round curve? Is the top panel folded down? Got to have more information......

You Guys are Friggin hilarious!!

YES! on all queries!!!

For the RECORD: single or married, rednecks still use the same towels and tires in the truck bed ARE a priority.

That fashion statement of the ballcap backwards? heheh It was started by GOOBER, the mechanic on The Andy Griffith show Mayberry RFD

tough call, but really needed info: round curve, thirds, heheh funny stuff

YES, hello to you up North! tough call as well- are you bored to death up there or would you change out truck parts if you lived in California??? heheh
you have the simular outfit on your truck as mine. if I could do stacks and not interfere with a tall fifith wheel boat trailer, I would seriously consider- just love that look!

OK here's one to think about- you really might be a down to the sould redneck IF you stop at the sign of roadkill to see if it will make a good stew tonight........

Most of the time, I wear my ball cap correctly.
When Im shoooting with a scope, I usually turn it around so it doesn't hit my flipup scope covers. (which I recently turned over so they flip down.

HAVE been to church; church suppers; worked at the church at least once

will help a friend/neighbor building something if there is food and beer afterwards

wears a belt and has a folding knife in the pants pocket, optional skoal can or cigarette lighter

may talk like a hound dog but is actually sweet and shy with 'THE girl'!

hope that adds a bit of spice to this thread, maybe now MEXSTAN will know a few folks that are---- REDNECKS!
Well I do manage to meet all of this so I guess I am a redneck, but I'd say more of a countryboy.
