that's what i mean.

like Apache, you spend more time doing upkeep than enjoyment.

my dad just called, offered me some free land if i would jump out of the Rat Race, and come home to the hills of NC.

build a small house and live small. wife just found a job she loves here.....she's rolling her eyes at me...kinda like this

well, now, God's blessed me to teach me a lesson (that's how the Bible puts it, it's more like a good thrashing)

and now, i've had all i can stand. we got 4 cars (trying to sell 2), one was wifes DD, but she now works with me, other was kids, she left it here and moved on with "no strings." other was wife's "weekend/midlife crisis car" and the CTD for my DD.

and got a big house, a yard with a HUGE ditch that irritates me to no end, takes forever to cut. and got another rental house that i could not get to sell, that needs some work too.

just really got all the "material crap" that seems like it would make "a good life"

but it's just annoying, all the cars need washed, waxed, vacuumed, the house needs mopped & dusted, the lawnmower needs a new starter, both my little trailers needs painted.

why do humans get so much junk that they can't manage it, then call themself successful?

i need to DOWNSIZE to save my sanity. somebody pray for me...

Well Just PM me I'll Give you my address and phone number...and i'll take all that stuff off your hands

Proverbs 15:16
"Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith."

that's what got me thinking about this.
most of Prov 15 is about having some sense, and not being foolish. 15:17 is good too

9 hours to collect leaves is nothing! My yard is only 5,000 to 6,000 square feet and I've spent at least 9 hours on leaves so far.

why don't you buy a pull behind thing from Sears?
or a bagging mower?
put on a DVD player & screen, have kids ride laps & watch cartoons?

Proverbs 16:8
8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Proverbs 17:1
17:1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

I got a little New Testament, with Psalms & Proverbs in back, at work, and I read that whenever I feel stressed keeps me from choking folks & doing Darwins job of cleaning out the gene pool

Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it sure makes being miserable a whole lot more tolerable.

This is a subject discussed at length at our house.
Wife is a very simple girl.
I on the other hand am not. Between all the vehicles, construction equipment, support equipment for the business, and toys, it is a full time job just to maintain it all.
The house, yard, rental properties always need something.
At 36 years old, I am ready to start slowing down.
2 rentals are on the market, might sign sales agreement on one after the holiday.
Would like to start enjoying life, and spend more quality time with wifey.
Don't want to work like a dog all my life, retire, then die in a month.
That has happened to a good number of people in my business.
I'm gonna try to beat the odds.

Sorry that got a little off track, but we're all thinking it, aren't we?
