You can help save lives, PLEASE READ
Folks,
I am writing on behalf of the NC Canine Emergency Response Team, which is a non-profit organization used in the State of North Carolina for finding lost persons. This organization works in wilderness, on water, during disasters etc. We perform swiftwater rescue, lost person search, cadaver recovery services, collapsed structure and trench (with NC Task Force 4).
In North Carolina, there are a high number of drownings and capsized boats requiring the services of our cadaver dogs, boats and other resources. One of the items we have found ourselves in need of is a side scan sonar system that allows us to more accurately pinpoint the location of a victim under water. This side scan sonar is cutting edge technology that is still not widely used across the United States. We have seen this system in action, and it works. It helps us reach our goal of finding closure for families who are missing their loved ones.
NC CERT is in the process of purchasing this system through a matching grant from the State Of North Carolina. The system costs 32k. We have raised 6k and we have the grant from the State for 16k. We still need 10k to complete the purchase. The deadline for us is the end of March and we are approaching that deadline quickly. If we don't reach the goal by then, the matching grant from the state goes away.
I am writing this asking for folks from DTR to donate what they can. If it's 5 dollars, 10, 100 or 1000, so be it. Any donations are appreciated. NC CERT is sponsored by DTR in the fact that all of their IT systems, website and other services are covered, by us.
DTR has donated $150.00 for the project, and we ask for a match from our members, or more if you're interested.
For more information on this project, please read the following thread.

Donation information will be given there. Any help from the good members of DTR would be greatly appreciated.
MANY of you have donated thousands of dollars to DTR. While we appreciate the donations, we ask that temporarily, you redirect your donations to this cause. DTR is a great site, but serving the families of NC and our country is of greater importance.
Thanks to all DTR members who decide to participate.... and thank you to those who decide not to. ALL of you are what makes this site tick, and you are ALL appreciated.

Which one, the thread link or the donation link? I will try to fix it but even if you can get to the site, there is a donation button you can use at the top of every page.
The main site is http://www.nccert.org
See if that helps..
