DITTO !
Couldnt have said it better. Obide or get out. Learn or leave. Wanna come here, then assimilate dont hole up with your own and create communities that isolate you from the regulars. Melting pot, that used to be true, not anymore. Dang shame this shooting happened, however it could have been anyone from any race. Stuff happens, unfortunatley it will effect the entire gun carrying community, more anti gun ammo for the grabbers. We have to continue to voice our views and our rights.

My prayers go out to the surviving family and friends of the victims.

Such a tragedy that people will use anothers suffering to further a cause or to start an argument. Then the lawyers will get involved and it just explodes into a money thing.

What a shame.

Well guys, I have to say I have had to deal with the mungs on several ocasions on our family farm near Harpers Ferry Iowa . across the river lies Wisconsin. We have had them ruin our deer hunts by comeing in the middle of our drives and blasting anything thats brown with their assault rifles-{WHICH ARE ILEGAL IN IOWA!!!} and useing 2-way radios to talk to each other{WHICH IN IOWA IS ALSO ILEGAL!} tresspassing added to that, no hunting licence and they also were from St. paul Mn Game warden is my families niehbor and has also caught them with over 100 red and grey squirls in thier possesion, useing what??? why a assault riffle of cource!! And don't even get me started on all the missing dogs in my nieghborhood!-Dont tell me they all run away either, Im not stupid!! This hits way to close to home!!! FRY THE LITTLE----------!!!!!!!!

Here is a good question; do you think he would have opened fire on a game warden if he had been called to escort that fool off private property?

Here is a link to one of our local media outlets: http://www.kbjr.com/morenews/morenews.asp
In case you guys were wondering, the three survivors are improving. Only one is still listed as critical. He has wounds to his neck and one shoulder. The other two were shot in the shoulder and abdomen. The news also stated that he was on a deer stand that was not his and on private property. He was informed of this by two members of a hunting party. He got off the stand and started walking away. When he was about 40 yards away he turned and opened fire. One of the injured called for help on a two-way radio and when help arrived they were fired upon also.

I'm with Westcoaster, I don't know all the facts yet and hate to make assumptions but...... after the first 5 or 6 got shot wouldn't you hunt somewhere to hide? I'm not trying to be sarcastic just curious.

Unfortunately, some of his victims were women and children. Unfortunately he picked their land, not someone who may have been a bit more prepared to square him away.....
Day before the opener, Karen was asking me why I packed the Sig. I told her 30-06 rounds were too expensive and dangerous to off a wounded deer at close range if needed. I didn't want to get into a debate at the time on wether something like THIS could ever be possible.

The guys race is irrelevant other than a description when tracking him down. He was using a 20 round mag, which I assume would be illegal for hunting in WI as it is in MI., and he was on property he knew wasn't his. I'm certain he went looking for trouble.

i hunt, and i hunt only on private property, its not safe hunting up here on public land anymore. i have had to kick people off our property, and was sometimes met with resistance. i never would have expected anything like this to happen, now i will be ALOT more careful. this is a sad day for all hunters and gun owners, hopefully the fact that this man was trespassing and hunting illegally will keep the gun control freaks at bay, but i doubt it. this was not far from my home either, its a wonder what you will find in the woods some days. my thoughts and prayers go out to the familys.

Ya, but apparently his stint lasted only 4 months. Looks like he's had some prior brushes with the law. In 2001 he was arrested and jailed briefly after waving a loaded handgun at his wife, plus 2 domestic violence calls in 2003, no charges. He was once fined $300 for possessing more fish the the limit allowed.

Not to throw water on your campfire, but a pistol isn't going to beat a rifle if you should get in a gunfight with someone. He could easily pop you from 50 yards out (or further). Very few folks can hit a moving target with a pistol at 50 yards.

Thanks Commatoze, did not realize he was only in 4 months. Probably means he got kicked out. If he got kicked out after 4 months, that does not make him a veteran in my book.

In my book someone kicked out of the military (unless it was for a physical medical reason) DID NOT SERVE HIS/HER COUNTRY and as such should not be refered to as a veteran. The press calling someone like this a veteran only serves to give those who have served thier country with honor a black eye.
