He lacked 20 minutes of working time to finish the job and usually gets paid on the Friday of the week in which he finishes. If he gets paid, I'll get a check, albeit much smaller than the amount he's behind but I need money as well. Repoing the equipment won't help because he's damaged the hoe, the clutch is out on the lowboy and I don't have a job for it anyway. At this time, I'm better off helping a little for free.
Yes, I'd say you're in a bit of a tough place with him. I think I'd have done the same thing. Of course, I'd have probably done it for free anyway, which is why I'm in the position I'm in at almost 50 years old!

I never had any aspirations of getting paid for my time yesterday either. I'm just trying to mitigate my damages a little. I might have a sale for my old Dodge. It's just been sitting since I bought the 04. It's going way too cheap considering what's on it but it needs a new home.

Evenin' all!

Been a long day. Been over 26 hours since I had more than a power nap. First day off night shift is always fun. Today I got to take my youngest's class ice skating. 20 1st graders on ice...... That'll keep you on your toes.

Still -35* outside. Makes for a cold walk home from school. (left the truck at home in the garage so I didn't have to leave it running)

Gonna crash soon.

You are way too nice. When I sell something its because I dont want to see it again or work on it though I understand you dont want to get it back.

In another twenty years you will prefer the vacuum cleaner. They dont snore and are always ready to go.
ofcmarc We got hammered by that wind you sent us. Friend got his Super Cub smashed up by somebody elses loose airplane. We were without power for 36 hours. Temp was 5f and wind gusts of 70mph. Had 28 power lines downed by trees. Used 14 gals of gas in the generator. I wanna go South.

Greetings. Run of the mill cold night. Home with a cold.
Our vacuum blew apart last night. Got a new one tonight. My wife seemed to think that when I said Merry Christmas...it wasn't funny.

I think I need to send out a happy birthday to SpeedoBob.

Happy Speedo Day Bobby.

I am outta here...coughing too much...will wake the Phoo00

Evening DTR

Not much today to report. Watched the military channel for a little while.

Happy Speedo birthday Bobby!

Ran across this video tonight and thought I'd share it!

Morning everyone.

Today is Friday, December 17th. Only 7 days & 15 hours 'til Christmas.

On this day in 1777 - France recognized American independence.

1791 - A traffic regulation in New York City established the first street to go "One Way."

1903 - The first successful gasoline-powered airplane flight took place near Kitty Hawk, NC. Orville and Wilbur Wright made the flight.

1939 - The German pocket battleship Graf Spee was scuttled by its crew, bringing the World War II Battle of the Rio de la Plata off Uruguay to an end.

1944 - The U.S. Army announced the end of its policy of excluding Japanese-Americans from the West Coast which ensured that Japanese-Americans were released from detention camps.

1957 - The United States successfully test-fired the Atlas intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time.

1969 - The U.S. Air Force closed its Project "Blue Book" by concluding that there was no evidence of extraterrestrial spaceships behind thousands of UFO sightings.

1976 - WTCG-TV, Atlanta, GA, changed its call letters to WTBS, and was uplinked via satellite. The station became the first commercial TV station to cover the entire U.S.

1978 - OPEC decided to raise oil prices by 14.5% by the end of 1979.

1992 - U.S. President H.W. Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari signed the North American Free Trade Agreement.

2002 - McDonald's Corp. warned that they would report its first quarterly loss in its 47-year history.

2002 - The insurance and finance company Conseco Inc. filed for Chapter 11 protection. It was the third-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.

2004 - U.S. President George W. Bush signed into law the largest overhaul of U.S. intelligence gathering in 50 years. The bill aimed to tighten borders and aviation security. It also created a federal counterterrorism center and a new intelligence director.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The reason for time is so everything doesn't happen at once.

Coffee's ready.

My Dad got stuck being the PBB officer at Mather AFB for awhile. He got to talk with a lot of nuts.

Right on! It was freezing cold (for us) here this morning. Even noticed a trace of frost in the middle of hood and the cab roof on the truck. By 8 that was gone. Been working on the RV but due to the freezing cold (I am a wimp when it comes to the cold) decided to stay inside until just after 9 before heading out IN MY SHORTS. By just after 10 the sun was HOT. By 11 my legs were burning and may have a touch of sunburn now.

OldGoatBob, better keep this conversation just between ourselves or the frozen DTR crowd will get jealous. They will think that we are gloating again.

Afternooner all!

Getting stuff done up here. Got a few presents wrapped and re-hidden. Almost ready.

For the Firefighters here. How do you make a tough job tougher?

Do it at -40* and add a bit of wind too.

Warehouse fire on my way to drop the kid at school.

Gotta haul your own water too.....Nearest hydrant is at least 5 miles away..... Tough work there. And they're a VFD too. My hat is tipped to those guys this morning. I've been there.
