In my other life, when we were submerged and had to get rid of the contents of the sanitary tank, we applied high pressure air and blew it overboard. Simple enough. However the tank is now filled with air that has to go somewhere. We vented back into the people tank through a large bed of activated charcoal. The activated charcoal did a pretty good job of filtering the smells.
Not sure where you can get some.

the problem is not the smell in the seat, but in the whole car, why treating seat won't do it.

i fall on the first recommendatoin, fill with charcoal, let sit while.

i put carpet fresh in my truck once....OOPS...what a mess.

but yeah, the smell is in the headliner (soft fuzzy tendrils) and carpet, and bottom of the seats, all in it.

that's why the baking soda will work, it soaks up stink.

now, let's hear about the dead body car, what kind of deal did they get it?

I'd suggest takeing it out too. Rig it upside down outside in the sun somewhere so air can circulate, and UV from the sun might help kill some bacteria. You may even see a way to safely remove the padding. Unfortunately the leather itself is like a sponge. It's probably gonna be affected by anything you use that would be capable of removeing the smell for good. I think the charcoal is probably the best chance, for whatever area it has direct contact.

......... My concern is that the shrimp juice may have soaked into the seat foam .
I think your concern is valid. Will probably have to have them reupholstered, or clean EVERTHING. Foam and all.

When used cars came into our dealership we would call a company that would come out and park between two cars. They would then run a 6" round hose through the window of each car. The guy had this machine in his service vehicle that was just an OZONE generator. I asked the guy how well it worked and he said that all smells are gone in about an hour or so.

We had a skunk get under a storage container that we had our furniture in and it smelled of skunk bad for weeks after the skunk had left. We found a local lady that sold a household air purifier that created OZONE. We put it in the container and left it running for 8 hours. The smell was gone.

Fine yourself a cheap OZONE generator and your smell will be gone.

Does one simply use barbecue charcoal?
