My dog ( 17 years old or possibly older) was given a death warrent by the vet several times. Never give up and go by your heart not what the vet says. Jasmine had a stroke about 2 years ago and the vet told me for 3 days that she wouldn't make it and would never be able to walk again. The 4th day I was actually starting to think that she wouldn't make it and started thinking about putting her down and she got up and walked. It took her several weeks but she made a full recovery and confounded the vet. Best wishes from my crew.

Our vet is awesome. She has given us every option. With the type of disease that Leevi has,we have to have blood test done and have him on these meds.It is know as a rare disease,I have spoken to 5 vets, and 2 out of the 5 told me he wouldn't make it through the transfusion. My vet said there was a chance, because of his blood count was sooooo low.As soon as he had his transfusion, she called me and told me he was doing well.

Spun, thank you,I keep hoping and praying! With the support of All of you on DTR ,We can't seem to Thank You enough!Cin' Family

Hey CIN.

That's excellent news, numbers are climbing slowly. Your percentage of rise is right on track with the daily 1/120th RBC manufacturing out of the bone marrow, anotherwords the production IS at normal daily levels. Hopefully you will be out of the woods in a couple more weeks, or at least enough to relax some. He should be at total normal levels in 120 days/4 mos if the numbers continue at the pace you are seeing. Your vet will probably give you an all clear in 1/2 that time.

CD, well the vet said that he would have to stay on this med to keep his red cell count. When it is up to normal they will take him off the prednisone, and cut him way back on the cyclosporine. I am just so happy! I know that we are definately not out of the woods yet but I feel really confident that he will make a full recovery .Although he will be on med. the rest of his life,we will definately make the best of it!

Again I want to Thank all of you for all your prayers and thoughts.Cin's Family

Update: Leevi had a turn for the worse yesterday. .
He wasn't acting right so I looked at his gums and they were white again.
He wouldn't take his meds,I have to pick him up and put him in the house, won't eat hardly anything.
I made a call into the vet and they got me in right then.
They looked at him and then took him back for blood test,After the blood test they brought back to me,then the vet walked in with this look on her face,I knew it was bad,I started tearing up and she told me it went down to 19.4.It went down 5% in 4 days.Praying Cin
