Whos a converted Powerstoker?
I know I am. I had a 99 ext cab 4x4. Clean truck. New paint and shaved emblems. Put chip, intake and exhaust on it and was VERY dissapointed. Thought about a CTD swap but figured it be smarter to buy a dodge.

Bought a 2001 CC powerstroke new and put 120,000 miles on it. It ate a transmisson and I fixed it and sold it. Bought the 2005 Dodge with Cummins and I couldnt be happier. The cummins is twice what the powerjoke was.
I will say the flowerpoke was a good engine and I never had one single problem with it, but I have my own theory on that. It didnt make enough power to tear up

I had a 97 F250 PSD. Good truck - I guess I put about 120K on it. In that time I replaced:
1 Set of Glow Plugs
2 Cam Position Sensors
1 Idler Pulley
1 Serpentine Belt
1 Water Pump
1 Set of Ball Joints
1 Tranny Shift Solenoid
Other than the water pump I figure that was not too out of the ordinary as far as maintenance goes. The guy I sold it to has put about another 30K on it and has had to replace the power steering pump and a couple of other small things, but it's still running pretty well.
But THEN I started at looking at replacing that truck with a new 6.0, and surprise surprise, I ended up with a Dodge instead.

Not a powerjoke convert, but like TXDiesel my truck was a 7.3 idi. When I realized that the old idi wouldn't put out the kind of power I wanted I started looking into a used PSD, or Dodge Cummins, then I came to the conclusion that I could put a 12v'er into my truck for less than what a PSD, or Dodge Cummins truck would cost me. For me it is a win, win situation, I get an engine with great power potential, no electronic controls, proven reliability, and I don't have to start over on a new (to me) truck.

I had a 97 PSD, good truck, but not near the truck my Dodges have been.
Less power, uglier, less power, didn't sound as good. And it had less power.
But the PSD was a good truck, put 60k on it with no problems, sold it for $200 less than I paid.

I had a 2001 F250 before the truck in my sig. And before the Ford, I had a 1998 Dodge diesel. The 98 was one of the best trucks I have ever owned. The Ford went through 3 clutches in 89,000 miles, so I traded for the 05. More than happy to be back.
The Ford was an OK truck, other than many clutch/tranny problems. But I absolutly am in love with the Dodge. Handles better, rides better, pulls better, turns better...come to think of it there is not one thing I would incorporate into a perfect truck that would come from the Ford.

Had a 99f350 stroke. Good truck went through some water pumps but that is it. A friends 7.3 only lasted 180K pulling a bobcat and advised me to get a cummins. Love my cummins engine, just wish I would have put a cummins into my 99 Ford because the body and interior were much stronger ie.. no DENTS or CRACKING DASH on my Ford.

I came over from an 03 7.3 PSD. I sold it thinking all I needed was a gasser, so i went back to a gasser, MISTAKE!!!! So, when it came time to buy another diesel I looked at both the CTD and PSD, and jstu found alot better deals on the CTD, so I bought one. Boy, glad I did, as this truck is a working machine. Not as comfy as a ride as my Ford, but I bought the truck to work, and work she does!!!
