whoops
Hey guys I need some help.
Seems that my wife doesn't like the black marks that have appeared in my driveway. I keep tellin her that I have no idea how they got there and it can't be me. After all I drive an old noisy diesal pickup. I did tell her that I would see if I could find a way to clean them off the driveway...

Just use straight butyl. It will emulsify the rubber and not damage the concrete and surrounding areas at all.
If you use muriatic acid you risk whitening the concrete or doing the entire drive to get a unifrom appearance. Muriatic has its place, but it is not for cleaning rubber. Its main intention is to literally resurface the concrete by "shaving" it in layers.
Also, if you have access to a hot water pressure washer you may not need any chemical at all. Anything above 175* will do. If it is a unit without an adjustable t-stat the heat should be factory set at 210* - 215* which is more than enough.

Don't worry I am here....
Had the same problem a little while back, except it was in my churches parking lot.....throttle got hung
anyway, i used Wesley's Bleach White, and a scrub brush. Just buy the gallon jug for lkike 5.95 at any auto store. Do not dilute it, just pour it on the marks and let it sit for about 2 or 3 minutes, then hit it with the brush. Should come nice and clean. The Wesley's actually dossolves a little of the rubber on your tires to get them nice and clean..
Hey man, it saved my conscience.....

Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
The best way to remove black marks from the driveway is very similar to the way you would remove permanent marker from a dry erase board. What you have to do is leave MORE black marks over the top of the existing ones and then they'll just wash away with a water hose.
