who makes a good 12v air compressor
i need something that will put out about 150psi yet still affordable
all ive found so far is Viair, which alot of the airbag lowriders use, but they tend to run between $200-300 and im looking for something closer to $100

If you want something good, go with ViAir and don't look back. I'm running one on my 5 gal tank, and it fills it in about the same time my old Firestone filled a 1/2 gal tank!

This is what I wired up in the tool box and it will flat spin a 1/2 inch impact wrench.

do you know which model viair it is?
i already got the loud horns, and may have possibly won a 5 gallon tank for $27 so im trying to keep the cost down as much as possible.
a buddy of mine works for black&decker/dewalt and says if i run a power invertor for 110 he can get me a really nice and fast 200psi compressor for cheap, which might be nice so i can run power tools and air tools

well i now have a dewalt compressor and 4 gallon tank for free, which leaves me to the task of buying a power inverter that can handle 15 amps, shouldnt be too bad. i found a nice vector model for $200 which gives me a complete compressor, air horn kit, and 110v power supply for tools on my truck for about $280 so far

Make sure the inverter can handle the start-up surge current of the compressor. Also, for 15 amps, you are best off running the inverter power directly off the battery.
