What's your Tax Refund going for?
Spent my first big chunk of the Tax Refund today.
Probably going to make the neighbors hate my truck even more.
Got a DEI Viper alarm system with remote start/starter kill and turbo cool down timer.
The fancy one with the 2way remote/pager with LCD screen.
700 bills after install and extra pieces needed to install in my truck.
Took the professional installer about 4 hours.
No way was I going to tackle that myself, especially in 30 degree weather with scattered snow flurries.
Truck had 3 inches of clearance in their shop.
Already tested it a couple times and is that siren loud.
If triggered, the siren sounds for 60 seconds, then the alarm resets itself,
so it won't sit there with the siren blaring, lights flashing till the batteries die.
Remote start ties into the wait to start light, installer said I lucked out, he's installed on a couple third gen's and couldn't get it to work on the diesels, he had to set them up with a delay timer start.
You can also set it to start the truck up once an hour, idle for 5-10 minutes, then shut off again, all with the alarm still activated.
Would be great for keeping some heat up thar where the polar bears roam.
Now I don't feel so bad parking it at the Traxx station, afraid it won't be there when I get off work.
I know the first time it goes off in the middle of the night, it'll scare the crap outa me, better that then no truck in the morning.
Next on the list is my winch and a call to Rod to order some guages.

I had some nice goodies all picked out, just awaiting for the wife to finish the taxes. Over the past couple of years wev'e sold our house, paid off the cabin, and sold my business, so we could be pretty much debt free and looking for retirement.
Wife told me the other day, we owe $1,600.00!!!!!
To top that off, unless we find some interest accruing debt within the next year.....we'll probably owe more
And here I thought that I was living the American dream, getting ready to retire, little nest egg put away, debt free.......only to find out that we'll probably mortgage the heck out of the cabin till we retire.
PS We both claim 1 deduction, which we are going to change to 0 deductions, just hope its enough????
Didn't mean to hyjack this thread, just got me going
Thanks for the vent though

I've got my withholding set up so I owe the govt. a little at tax time. That way I get to spend all MY money all year long instead of giving the govt. an interest free loan for a year. I've never understood people who get excited about a tax refund. It was your money the whole time, not a present from Uncle Sam.
