what are these hoops under a truck?

saw these up at the lake, here in SC.

think it had WV plates on it.

there was 2 on rear bumper, WELDED on tight,
and 2 in front of the rear wheel, attached to the frame

???

I hear you get 10HP and 5MPG with those. They improve wind turbulance under the truck.

Looks like they'd fold in half with just slight pressure from tie down chains tho. That can't be more than 1/2" threaded rod.

No, he probably has some type of pipe or bar that runs under them, and then chains that hook to the camper.

I tried to find a pic of it on the net, but didn't see anything that was really close. With all the snow birds down here, I've seen some pretty weird things relating to campers and 5vers.

It is the base for a slide in cabover camper. The rails on the camper are also the jacks. Forget the name of them.... suppose to be very stable when on the ground.

The jacks are also the whole tiedown. nothing else needed.

Those are actually the brackets that hold a degaussing coil for driving through a mine field.
