I've got the Matco Beast, 3.5 ton. Picks the truck up well, you still have to work it to raise. You can definetly tell the difference between jacking up a car and the truck.

I've read some bad reviews about the Craftman 3 T jacks but not about the 2T jacks. Also seen some bad reviews about Harbor Freight jacks. Has anyone had any trouble with them. They seem to be the least expensive but do they last? Are they single or double piston? Some jacks on the internet are in the mid to upper $100"s but the shipping cost is outa sight cause they weigh over a 100#. I'm assuming that you should have at least a 3T for our trucks.
Thanks,
Jay

Had a Harbor Freight for about 20 years (a friend had it the 1st 10 years) that finally blew a seal, replaced it with the newer version and have been using it for about 10 now with no issues at all. I'm not using it every weekend, but for the 10 times a year I need it, it has always worked for me.

I'd go with a 3 ton heavy duty for our trucks. That one of mine will hoist it well but you'll work to pick the front of the truck up. I have an a-zone jack on the truck, little two ton jobber for $20. It's been dropped, fell off the truck, probably run over and anything else. Still works but if I had to pick my truck up I'd be worried.
