What the heck is a TROLL?

Ok. Where did the term "troll" come from. I thought it was a little, squatty, dude that is real ugly that lives under bridges and charges everyone toll to cross. I guess if you are acting like an 11 year old and expressing your opinions while prodding a little comedy just becuase your bored and wanted to have some fun, I guess then you are a childish troll. Funny how that works. I sure had a good time causing no one any harm yesterday. You other little trolls know who you are. Don't try to hide it. How 'bout the double lock on both threads! That was impressive! My appologies to the moderators for being childish, just having some fun on my downtime.

My interpretation of it is a person who knowingly tries to disrupt an online community (like this forum) by posting immature banter in an attempt to make himself somehow feel superior to his intended victim or victims.

Usually this includes no useful data with only shock value being the main intent. A concerned effort to belittle another person just because he does not share your view on a given subject.

Nothing funny about it, if anyone came to this forum and tried to do the same thing here, you would immediately take exception to it and want to do something about it.

The harm you caused is to this forum in general and your own credibility. You have shown that you do not care about anyone but yourself and you get your jolly's by picking on other people. It was the most shameful act I have witnessed by a group of members that should by all accounts know better.

I can understand if you went there and tried to offer solid information to help educate others on the dangers of towing with an inadequate vehicle, but instead you went out of your way to make a nuisance out of yourself. As you are again in this thread.

Nothing impressive about getting a thread shut down due to immature behavior. Had the threads been able to stay open, someone may have actually learned about the dangers associated with towing beyond vehicle capacity.

The only thing anyone learned by the childish antics yesterday was that you care more about getting a laugh at someone else's expense than offering useful information that might actually help another person.

As I stated yesterday, I am embarrassed by your actions and the fact that they are in ANYWAY associated with this website. There are good people on this site with useful information for everyone. If you do not wish to belong to that group, there are plenty of other sites that openly appreciate childish behavior and would no doubt welcome you with open arms.

My gosh.....I guess that sums it all up. After 800 or more post about 'serious' issues and learning about everything from bumper to bumper, I and others can't have a little fun without making someone embarrassed by my actions. Maybe I'll just "read" posts for a while, seems like all I do is (edited by user) people off. Good grief. I don't guess it would hurt me to loosen up a little or anyone else for that matter.

Well I will tell you this I get called alot worse in my everyday life than what was posted on that thread and if I got all butthurt about it every time it would consume my life. There are days I will just be driving down the road and people will shake there head at me or show some form of their disgust and I haven't done anything no smoke nothin. The fact of the matter is people are to sensitive, now I understand Larry in the fact that if that stuff goes on then it will probably go to the next level if it isn't stopped. Anyone can type trash, and it could easily spiral out of control.

I think it's more named after a fishing stragedy than an imp that lives under bridges and eats goats.

Drop something shiny in the water and see who bites.

Me and my brother call our (technically) step mom a troll!! Although we don't call her our stepmom or even think of her as one. She is about as mean as they come and is short and round, so the name Troll fit her perfectly!!

Granted yeah it's not nice to make fun of dads wife, but she's treated us like garbage from day one so it's impossible to be nice back!
