Texas is probably the most conservative. I think they have the best personal defense laws.

The only real drawback to Texas is the Texans.

Did you Know that when the tide goes out in Alaska it exposes more land than in the state of Texas.

5,000 glaciers
3,000,000 lakes
3,000 rivers
Hunt and Fish year around
Legal to carry a concealed weapon without a permit as long as youre not a felon.
600,000 people
The biggest state in the union, with least amount of people. Meaning less ***holes to deal with and more room to live, play and enjoy the great outdoors without someone eyeballing you and getting into your personal business.
Don't have illegals jumping the border. Why would a canook want to come to Alaska, looks the same and just as cold in the winter.
Crazy LIBERAL Californians come up here and may live here for a little while, but they move out after one winter. (not saying all Californians are crazy or Liberal)
Humans are not the highest on the food chain either. (population control)
If you go out into the woods, all you need is another person and 22 rifle, when the grizzly starts to chase you just shoot the other guy in the knee and walk away, lol.

My little slice of Texas is like heaven on earth. Well until the temp hits 100+ with 150% humidity!

Yeah, summer here about 100 miles from Louisiana and 70 north of Houston can be painful.

But a day like today is SUPER!

I go a lot of places in Texas, and over near Austin tends to be nice but full of Liberal Idiots!

Our Border Patrol agents down here get a RAW deal as we have a Judge here abouts that gives them more grief than ANY Mexican could....

OH and about bragging about Texas. It ain't bragging if you can do it!

I would love to live in Alaska.

I think this whole post was kind of a loaded question. Is there anyone from Texas who doesn't think it is the greatest place in the world? I noticed this when I was in the Navy. The people from Texas thought it was just the greatest on earth and the people that visited Texas thought is was well, big....

I for one thought the people were very nice but it was just too darn hot for me. But I'm not a fan of the hot weather...

I came to Texas because it offered alot more opportunity than my home state, Mississippi. It's ok...but the summers are definately to hot. I'd prefer it to be about 10 degrees colder, year round........including winter so we could get some snow.

Every place has something to offer. I'd sure love to go to Alaska for a while. I want scenic views, mountain tops, and glacier lakes. Texas is kinda short on those things. But once you get started with your life, it is not that easy to just undo...the direction you started. The best I can hope for at this point is to retire as young as possible and become a full-time RVer and see all the places im missing out on in the current time.
