Can any one help me find a Cat conv. for my sons 97 1500 w/5.9 liter. It has the Calif. OBD II Emissions. Local Dealers want $950.00, $1250.00 installed.

Try one of the local muffler shops. I got a high-flow cat when mine plugged and I don't believe I paid all that much for it.

The local muffler shops don't want to touch it? If you buy one elsewhere, how will you get in installed? I don't think hi-flow cars are much more than $100.

I emailed a friend of mine who's part owner of KRC Performance. I'll let you know what he recommends.

Seems strange that they don't want business ... maybe they know that they are selling inferior products that wouldn't allow you to pass inspection ??!!??

I went to a small mexican shop in San Diego ... no problemo. He may have been hungrier than the guy you are talking to .

Can you run a welder ??

Order a CAT online, probably about $100 shipped.

Chop out your existing, and clamp new one on. may need a couple inches extra pipe.

Its 'nuff to get by.
