Only $490 opposed to I think $140 for the year. Think I made out ok .
Something to think about if your subscription is about to go out.

Well enjoy it while its here. XM is about to go away, and they were the big dog for a few years, but time changes and people get sick of it. It has a limited market, and with HD radio, Sirius may go the same way. I hope I'm wrong, because I have it as well...

If XM goes away then Sirius will be here for sure for at least 3 years which is about what lifetime costs . HD will have commercials and I think satelite will stay commercial free, for awhile at least.

Yeah, they did, and they got the millions of dollars of XM's old debt to prove it.
Sirius already has commercials on half the channels...and all the channels I listen too. I pay $13 a month to listen to a EDIT commercials for E-surance and Wild Turkey, I'm sorry, but thats absurd!

I'm not about to pay a subscription fee to listen to the radio.
This is why I purchased an HD radio that will play MP3 and WMA disks as well as being able to physically attach my ipod and control it through the head unit.
I'm pretty sure there's enough others like me that SAT radio could be in real jeopardy.
They have moved away from their original concept.
It was supposed to be 100% commercial free. They reneged on that when they realized that it would cost the subscriber a small fortune and thus no one would buy it. So they have some commercial free channels but it's not commercial free. The NEW is wearing off for those who thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I predict it will tank in a few yrs.

I dont have satellite radio and cant quite figure out why I would need it.
there is usually a radio station in range that is playing what I like. out side of that, my Ipod takes over duty of entertainment. Most of the time, the radio is on just to have some noise besides the wind and road.

Yeah it transfers 3 times and all the stations I listen to are commercial free for now I guess. If it's good for 3 years I'm cool with my gamble.

Now your system may or may not require some type of an adapter. I would hope not.
Not all stations have an HD signal but the ones that I have found that do usually have 2 signals. That gives me a choice of 2 different tunes per station at any given time.
HD is the same quality signal as XM or Sirrus, but like I said before...It's free!!

How do you go about switching from one vehicle to another? I have the lifetime subscription but it is attached to the 07 which I don't own anymore. My new truck has Sirius for a year so I guess I can take my time getting it done.
The great thing about Satellite radio is when you take a trip. You can drive coast to coast without having to flip through the stations every couple hours trying to find a new station that you may like.....
