We have a new addition to our family!

Boy do I feel old this evening. It's official, I'm a grandfather. Elizabeth, "Lizzy", arrived tonight after some trying moments. She experienced some difficulty during the initial phase of delivery and an emergency c-section was required. But she emerged into this wacky world wide eyed and alert, full term, but a peanut at 5lb.10oz., 19" long. My son Shaders_24V and his wife Lisa are in good shape. So, I need a name. Pop-pop is out. Grampa, Grandpaw, Gramps, Pappy...forget it! G.P. might work...decisions, decisions.

Congratulations Paw Paw! You will soon see the pleasure of having a grandchild, If I had known they were this much fun....I would have skipped my own children and moved straight into the grandbabies

Congrats on the grandbaby, get busy spoiling her. My Dad's side of the family was German, we called his parents Oma and Opa. Short and easy for little kids to say.

Congratulations Grandpa, I have seven grand children myself. It's alot of fun watching them grow and great side benefits, one of them is when they get old enough to hug you and say "I love you grandpa", that's something you can't buy. Remember you are only as old as you think you are!--Have a good one--Ray

Congratulations
My wife & I were not going to have children when we got married. But six years into our marriage this little baby girl miraculously appeard. Now this baby girl is 23 & going to give us our 2nd grandson within the next few weeks. Oh what a joy it is when my 3yr old grandson comes over, runs into the living room & jumps up on my lap, gives me a big hug & says I love you pa pa.

Being grandparents is sooo much fun.

Congrats!

How about Mr? I tried that, but ended up with Papaw. It took some getting used to, but now, that's just who I am.

My dad-in-law is Poppa to his grandkids. 5 lbs 10 oz? What a bruiser compared to my son who was 3 lbs 12 oz.

Congrats to you, Shaders and the rest of the family on the little one!

Contratulations to you and your family, Tom! I think that Haulin is right, you won't have much say in what the little one calls you. She'll figure it out.

Thanks again guys. We can't wait to see her and are driving down to NJ next weekend. The wife has shed a lot of tears this weekend when she talks to the kids and can't be part of the celebration. Makes the separation all the tougher, and me to question whether I made the right decision to move up here a few years back.
